i'm not sure which side i think should win, but i think it's a little less clear than what you're saying as there are conflicting laws. the Immigration and Nationality Act gives the president the authority to ban any “alien or class of aliens” from entering the US, but it also prohibits discriminating against someone applying for a visa “because of the person’s race, sex, nationality, place of birth, or place of residence.”

also, i know people who are not in this country don't have the same constitutional rights as people physically here, but i've seen it debated that a complete ban on a religious group may, in fact, be unconstitutional.

for the record i think it's dangerous for courts to interfere with the president's authority on national security matters, so if it's a close call, it should prob go to the president

Yeah, there is a middle logical ground between what Germany did, and what Trump is trying. Germany's open door policy, while being incredibly merciful, was foolishness. Their policy, along with the Paris shooting, are probably responsible for the 5% necessary to swing Brexit. That France employed a similarly lax vetting is why La Pen even is drawing live. You can't assimilate that many people that quickly. You can't properly vet them, and even if you could, you don't want to change the demographics of your country that quickly. It will always lead to civil unrest.

But what Europe did and what we've done aren't even in the same stratosphere. Even the couple failures were people vetted for like 7 years, and you're talking like 750k people in a country of 300 million over a long period of time. Trump attacked one of the only fantastic government agencies we have. One that works fabulously. And the downside of having his actions used against us to recruit new members far outweighs anything that has ever occurred here.

Still, I think he likely wins in SC. If they didn't run their mouths so much, they already would have won. He lost because of his stated intent.

I also hope he wins, even though I think it's idiotic. I want all failures on his tab. His policy is idiocy, and emblematic of his poor judgement, and I want him to receive full credit for it when it blows up in American faces. If no deaths occur, he's simply matched the record of his predecessors. If it fails, it's on him. I don't want him having any excuses. I comprehend that's calculating lives in terms of politics, but the quicker you get rid of a madman, ultimately it will save more American lives. This is where we're at now.

Trump ran his campaign on (7) primary talking points

1) America First

2) Keep illegal aliens the fuck out of this country & build the wall

3) Bring back jobs to the U.S.A.

4) Take better care of our veterans

5) Control government spending and reduce the ballooning national debt

6) invest in rebuilding the military and the countries crumbling infrastructure

7) repeal and replace the disaster otherwise known as Obamacare

Personally, I think that's one hell of a lineup for his presidential itinerary.

I just can't comprehend how liberals can object to a single one of those objectives.

I mean yes, of course Trump is brash and unorthodox, but even the most diehard far left Democrat has to concede the undeniable fact that the man loves this country.

So true. I've witnessed first hand how 'some' can behave in their own countries. Not sure much has changed in the last 1,000 years over there. Fuck having that on our own doorsteps.

I don't really see the part that says they are single men. You know that claim about 70% of all refugees coming to Germany being young single men. If we are going by facts. It does seem really strange that none of the male refugees is married.

I'm not saying it's more dangerous to flee to Germany than it is to get gassed or murdered by Assad. That equation doesn't exist nor is Assad even remotely the only threat in Syria. Germany is very rarely the first place people flee to from Syria. More common equation is that it's less dangerous to wait in a crowded refugee in camp than try to move the whole family to Germany at once.
