Now that the NBA has started, I think I will be watching for those halftime blowouts and bet on the behind team for 2nd half.

Those worked out well last year, especially once I refined the method.

Here's the conditions under which I will bet:

- Losing team down 20 or more at halftime.

- Losing team either favored pre-game or no higher than a +6 dog.

- Winning team is not one of the very top-ranked teams in the NBA. This means no Cleveland, no Golden State, no San Antonio.

- Losing team is not one of the NBA's worst teams

- It is before March 1

Of course, I will have to feel out the line in each of these games and see if I feel the bet is worth it, but I'm only going to bet if all of the above are true.

The best bets in this spot are on the home favorite. In general, making these bets on the home team tends to be better, as they seem less inclined to completely give up when in front of their home crowd.

16 point Knicks advantage right now, but Memphis doesn't look completely lost.

If this breaches 20 by halftime and the 2H line on Mem is reasonable, fire on it.

Ugh... thanks for the vote of confidence. Truthfully this whole week from Tuesday in has been a trainwreck.

This AM I had all the Bengals unders and they looked like solid gold at half. 2 half and OT turned a 9-0 sweep into a 3-1-5 cup o bleach. Had all the Baylor passing overs yesterday and they had 100 yards passing 5 minutes into the game as one would expect vs Texas. The ran a pseudo wildcat for most of the 2 and 3 quarters.... can't explain it. My best NBA guy sends me an urgent message to get as much money down on Kyle Kover under 14.5 pts and under 2.5 TPM as possible.... bad line too old won't get the minutes.... comes out and has 15 points and 3 TPM at half... and then goes 0 for the rest of the game....... just a truly strange weekend.

Yeah, the ideal is to have both Bovada and a book with regular lines, and then you can get the best of both sides.
