There is no need to apologize for being characterized as me. I may currently be a truck driver, but that doesn't define the level of my intelligence nor the scope of my knowledge on various subjects. Not even close. I just choose to do it at this stage of my life for peace of mind, which is longer story than I care to get into.

But for the record, a former academic colleague contacted me last September to ask me to apply for a tenure-track finance prof position where he has tenure so that he would be able to easily corral me to work on projects with him doing the heavy lifting re programming, analysis, and lit review. But the thought of dealing with those fucking students just made my stomach turn.

And a few months earlier, a friend of mine who works with a bank in Toronto contacted me to apply for a job as senior risk management analyst, and was willing to sculp the requirements for the position to have a good shot at convincing his boss(es) to hire me. Because he knows I have the skills and intelligence to do that job well, even if it took a few months to come up to speed on the industry specifics. But the thought of stepping back into the corporate bullshit arena -- especially dealing with super fucking arrogant bankers -- also turned my stomach.

So, yeah. I currently drive a big rig for a living. And enjoy the job and lifestyle quite nicely. (Thank you very much.)

1. I guess in these prestigious jobs reading comprehension is not a requirement. Although being a college professor, I don't know how that's gunna work for you. Also, I don't think any of the regulators would appreciate dealing with a "senior" risk manager who "reads" their rules and since he can't understand them just says something completely unrelated.
