Congress Spent More Time Investigating Benghazi Than It Did 9/11

Congressional investigations have a way of stretching from months to years, but the House committee probe into 2012’s Benghazi attack was especially lengthy. At 2 years and four months, it was longer than Congressional probes into 9/11, Watergate, the JFK assassination and Pearl Harbor.

Four Americans died at the U.S. embassy in Libya.

Republicans launched the investigation with a focus on Hillary Clinton, but Democrats accuse them of using Benghazi as a political weapon, especially after this from comment from Republican leadership.

“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?" Rep. Kevin McCarthy asked on Fox News. "But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today?”

The final report finds no new evidence of wrongdoing by Clinton.

So not even 24 hours after our attorney general Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton meet behind closed doors in an airport hangar.... the State Department issues a directive today not to release any Hillary emails related to the Clinton Foundation for the next 27 months.

Now we have FBI Director Comey telling us that they were able to recover some of those 30,000, and found that at least 110 of them (probably MUCH more, as they only recovered a fraction) contained classified material. Yet the Clinton people deleted them, and anything else we might find "interesting".

I'm pretty sure they recovered 100% of the deleted emails. And I'm pretty sure that all of the classified emails were in the first group that they turned over, and were never deleted. Can you back up your claims?

Listen to the Comey speech again. He said that Hillary's people deleted 30,000 e-mails which could not be recovered.

They were able to recover a small percentage of them by looking at other sources, such as the inboxes of the recipients.

I will admit that Newt Gingrich had numerous personal failings, and wasn't particularly good at governing.

However, he's a great political mind, very intelligent, and is excellent at summarizing and explaining the follies of the left.

He was also one of the biggest forces behind the historic 1994 Republican victories.

He's a very good speaker, writer, and "ideas" guy.

I really like reading his stuff and watching him speak.

This exchange is the nuts. It should be game over for Hillary. But no one cares. No reaction to this on PFA either.

Did Gowdy RIP Comey. Not really. I thought the FBI Director was a pretty straight shooter here. FBI Dir. Destroyed Hillary in easy, clear English.

To me this summarized the whole election question. Gowdy's performance, timing and delivery was exquisite.

Was Comey owned? Again, the timing of this exchange was like good Jazz. You would think this was rehearsed.

It was as if Comey wanted to answer as he did. Yes, the decision came from above and executed by Comey under duress.

You listen to this then continue with our regular election programming and you realize what a farce our current political process is.
