I also think he's easily top 10 "right now". I would go
1. Paul
2. Rondo
3. Westbrook
4. Parker
5. Rose
6. D. Williams
7. Nash
8. Rubio
9. Lawson
10. Irving

That's a pretty solid list. I think I would take a healthy Rose at #2 but I'm a huge homer. Rondo at #2 seems right after the playoffs he had, but throughout regular season he was really inconsistent. He certainly has played at that ECF level before but not that often. I would go:
Paul
Rose
Rondo
D. Williams
Westbrook
Parker
Nash
Irving
Lawson
Rubio
I put more emphasis on PG qualities versus overall player. I think Deron Williams is overlooked only because he played in Utah and then on horrible Nets teams until now. The Nets still may not be very good but he is going to get a ton of exposure and people will see how good he is.
Kyrie Irving is incredible. The PG position is really loaded right now.

I forgot about Teague being good. I used to live in Winston-Salem, NC and grew up going to Wake Forest games seeing Tim Duncan, Chris Paul and later on Teague. I'm STUNNED that he's made a name for himself in the pros. Was always athletic but EXTREMELY short sighted and immature. All Wake Forest fans laughed when he left early.
well my list was in response to when you said "right now", not starting a team today...which implies building for long term. But even then, either you must be a Hawks homer, or related to Teague, because I guarantee you every NBA general manager would take Rubio or Lawson over Teague right now (and also probably >25 gm's would take Jennings and wall over him also).
Did the stormin Mormon make the hall? Anyone remember that Charles Barkley denial from Shawn Bradley ??
Teague impressed me at the end of the year and during the 7-game seires against the Celtics (that's my team btw not the Hawks). Incredible range, can penetrate, and seems to have all the upside in the world. I'm usually pretty good at guessing who is going to be an All Star and who will be a bust (John Wall); the first time I saw Ray Allen take a jump shot in college I said "he's going to be a superstar". But to be honest, I haven't seen enough of Rubio or Lawson to make an accurate judgement on their talents. I look at the stats, but for me it's more how they play, since stats can lie, a la Dana Barros.

Lawson seems like he is going to be the real deal, especially if his shot gets better. I actually think that John Wall still has the ability to make a name for himself. He's been on some cancerous teams (Nick Young, JaVale McGee) and hopefully the Wiz won't be as horrible this year.
