More information (I posted it earlier in the Trump thread, but it may belong here) pertaining to DePaul's horseshit event, where Milo Yianopolis was shut down by BLM last night.

School Adminstrators told CPD to NOT do anything, and to sit there and not arrest the protesters. Worthless...

THEN, it turns out, the school president issued a really weak apology, and never apologizes to Milo, and then trashes his "views", where the guy was apparently wrong.

    shame on my former U.

"I talked to a few of the dozen Chicago police officers eventually called into the building, and they were irate. They were well-trained, and well-equipped to handle scenarios such as this. They wanted to do their job, and remove the protesters, but administrators demanded they stand passively and watch. Once again, violence prevailed over free speech on a liberal college campus, and the administration was 100% complicit."

    Oh, snap!!! This explains it!!!

The Psychological Quirk That Explains Why You Love Donald Trump
The popularity of the GOP front-runner can be explained by the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
    http://www.politico.com/magazine/sto...#ixzz49iVzGqgg

Many commentators have argued that Donald Trump’s dominance in the GOP presidential race can be largely explained by ignorance; his candidacy, after all, is most popular among Republican voters without college degrees. Their expertise about current affairs is too fractured and full of holes to spot that only 9 percent of Trump’s statements are “true” or “mostly” true, according to PolitiFact, whereas 57 percent are “false” or “mostly false”—the remainder being “pants on fire” untruths. Trump himself has memorably declared: “I love the poorly educated.”

But as a psychologist who has studied human behavior—including voter behavior—for decades, I think there is something deeper going on. The problem isn’t that voters are too uninformed. It is that they don’t know just how uninformed they are.

Psychological research suggests that people, in general, suffer from what has become known as the Dunning-Kruger Effect. They have little insight about the cracks and holes in their expertise. In studies in my research lab, people with severe gaps in knowledge and expertise typically fail to recognize how little they know and how badly they perform. To sum it up, the knowledge and intelligence that are required to be good at a task are often the same qualities needed to recognize that one is not good at that task—and if one lacks such knowledge and intelligence, one remains ignorant that one is not good at that task. This includes political judgment.
P.S. Truth be told: That last bolded sentence prolly sums up my poker game.

I agree but am confused. Pretty sure that "gaps in knowledge" is essentially same thing as ignorance... So not sure why this psychologist is suggesting something deeper is going on.

My honest opinion though to trumps popularity is due to the increasing push to turn news into entertainment coupled with the ongoing culture of celebrity worship. Trumps biggest strength is his die hard support. Its rare to see such fanaticism in American politics (political party yes but not politicians).

At some point, by the end of the week, Im fully expecting some news report, discussing something random and wonderful that Joe Biden just did.

then, Im expecting some random people coming on MSNBC bringing up Joe Biden should get back into the running for Prez.

Then, Biden, within 3 weeks, will be hitting the major news outlets.

The candidate names are therefore interchangeable in the story title.

I mean if your telling me that the least informed person on this site is less informed than some ghetto junkie that votes democrat on auto pilot, you are way more fucked up than words can describe.

There is both knowledge and meta-knowledge, the later being knowledge about one's knowledge. Meaning, one can be ignorant of some information, but also mistakely think one knows the information. The example relevant to the case of many Trump supporters is likely how Trump would "[m]ake America [g]reat [a]gain". They believe they know how he's going to do so, but are usually wholy ignorant of the likely disastrous consequences for the country that Trump's proposed policies would precipitate.

I couldn't find an independent reference to the punch threat by Ward, e.g.
    http://depauliaonline.com/2016/05/25...neider-letter/

But he clearly did not get the memo (by ripping the microphone from the speaker's hand.)

(Shhhh! The "memo" is a big secret!)

If you watch the video, Milo cracked a joke about the guy, and then the guy walked up to Milo, leaned in, and said something to him. Milo then proclaimed that a threat was made ("Dont try me...I'll lay you out" is what Milo later claimed he said) and Ward made no effort to dispute it, nor did he change his demeanor. He likely said it, based on body language and lack of a reaction.

Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" is also coming out of the wood work. It could be a Bern/Warren ticket.

    Regardless!

I called it here a year ago that crooked Hillary will be sabotaged by self or Obama and it would be somebody else!!!!!!!!!

If someone can find one of those many posts from a year ago, please post.

    Regardless..

    Trump wins!!!
