If you guys had a kid and wanted to set up a DRIP for them what company would you choose?

First reaction is Exxon. 3.5% They offer a DRIP. Decent spot here for initial purchase and they will be around 25 years from now doing much the same thing.

I am not gambling on identifying the next big growth story here, right?

I don't think in these terms usually but it should be on your short list.

I did this for my kids 15 years ago. Raytheon was big around Massachusetts, I knew a lot of guys there and they suggested it. It was mostly luck. War was in the air and they did a DRIP. Not a tremendous dividend but the growth was a double.

I can't believe I said double on RTN. It quadrupled. Was in just after 9-11.

Like MMM. Right vehicle for this but hate starting here. It could break out here too again but I find XOM more appealing as a better dividend and price point.

I got no edge thinking long term really. But doing the DRIP for them is cool. You gonna tell the kids?

I never have. They are around 20 now. Truth. They might kill me.

Truth? My kids have more in investments than I do.

They better kill me before I find a way to siphon funds.

Nice chart PM. Never saw this break out.

Finally breaking the resistance of 90 after after months of knocking on that door was a thing of beauty. Very smooth trade if you had an alert set up.

4% Look at the decade long chart and where we are now.....this really is a great idea.

My daughter (she's 8) grandmother started collecting her pension. She was going to put $1K in a savings account for her and do an auto deposit for $50-$100. I said that was wonderful but where she is so young a DRIP would probably be a better vehicle. G-ma is interested/receptive.

G-Na loves to cruise so I have a feeling it's going to end up in Carnival Corp. it's all +EV for my daughter so I'm not going to fight it.

Technically I'd prefer MO over Philip Morris but they both good.

Earnings season under way. A lot are expecting shit earnings. Dollar has weakened considerably which will help earnings unlike past few quarters. Not sure what will happen. Volatility can't stay this low though. VXX is the play especially if it gets to $15. You can always juice it up with weekly options on the way up as well.

The death of the WinTel PC.

MSFT got the shit kicked out of it after not so great earnings. Kludgy company and product.
Feel old to have witnessed the whole lifecycle.

Intel lays off a record 12,000 workers.
There was a time I could rattle off nearly the entire TTL catalogue and microprocessor lineup starting from 8008 and tell you a little story about each. Now it is irrelevant and me-too.

I just can't envision where things go from here.

Strategy is great for people who like gambling except you don't lose all your money if you lose.
Trade came through again. It's almost like a money tree growing in the back yard lately. I have a big fish lined up for next week. Sink or swim. I'd post details but the local sand n-word may read it and I really don't want to teach the little prick how to make real money.

Krypt, not trolling here but wtf happened to ENDP and do you still own it? Fuck. That's a lot of low level hookers right there. ENDP is a low level hooker cum to think about it.

Biotech bubble popped July 2015. The sector is a ticking time bomb and ENDP was the latest victim. Lot more downside for the sector coming.

This was a recent purchase from him in the $30's I believe. Well after the bubble popped.

I think he paid $40 for it. The bell weather of the sector, GILD, is at a 52 week low. When bubbles pop, the stocks can drop to unimaginable levels. I would avoid the sector altogether.

    AAPL

Simp, this is trying my patience. It doesn't feel that great. Not gonna fill that gap to 103 now, that's for sure.

Overall Market feels kinda crappy. Hopefully market runs a little tomorrow and people turn to AAPL

Just got back from Costa Rica of all places. Wife saw this place and booked for long weekend. Hiked up to a volcano nearby. Costa Rica was a nice spot and warm but overall kinda boring and not worth a trip report. Sorta like Apple.
