Nobody can figure out why Hatcher isn't released, let alone used in high leverage situations over and over.

We used to laugh at Mattingly about that, but Roberts keeps making the identical mistake.

    Direction from above?

    No idea. He sucks.

I think the biggest mistake that Mattingly and Roberts have made with the Dodgers is the daily lineup changes. They need to pick 8 positional players and stick with them.

Four 1st place teams played in Chicago tonight. That has never happened before.

    Nationals
    Red Sox
    Cubs
    White Sox

Cubs are a monster. You know what's scary? Theo Epstein will add at least one more piece by trade deadline. Theo is god.

I took Red Sox under 87 wins big. They won the series against the White Sox. I got a problem.

Red Sox starter lasted 3 innings. The starting pitching is dreadful. But the offense is huge and defense very good to great.

    Gonna sweep Yankees next

SuicideKing took Giants Rockies over 24.5 total. I think he'll be good.

They have been beating up on the braves Yankees and Astros the last two weeks. They got the Yankees and Astros over the next week and a half..... Let's see how it goes in the back half of May.

You know the Dodgers bullpen is horrible when theyre claiming a reliever the Twins put on waivers. Trust me, the Twins bullpen is horribad. I never would have thought any team was desperate enough to pick up Casey Fien and his $2.3 mil salary. But then there is the Dodgers.

Were you really expecting to beat Kershaw?

    lol

Tomorrow you get one of the sucky starters, so your team will probably win that one.

The Dodgers spent more money on players last year than any team, in any year, in any sport.
    Let that sink in.

A lot of stuff has happened since then. Getting rid of some old shit. The above statement is still fact and the results speak for themselves. The rest is noise & rationalization.

I feel so bad for Trout wasting his prime for the Angels. That has got to be no fun.

I feel the same way for Kershaw. He's 28. He will definitely take a hard look at his opt out in 2018 and explore a win now situation. Wouldn't it be prime if a win now team like the Cubs take him?

Friedman talks about the Dodgers player development and the highly rated farm system. Don't believe this. Friedman doesn't, not really. They have a minor league bubble, true.

Imagine you had a printing press. It was guaranteed you could mint money. Wouldn't you be spending that on established stars? Well, prospects and developed prospects are currency too. Yet they are afraid to deal. Tells you something about their faith in their system.

I see my share of college games in the east. I have never seen a Dodgers scout to speak of. Dodgers chase the same stuff as everyone else.

Teams are going to pass on the high school players for the most part this year. The focus is now on proven college players. Dodgers will play in the same sandbox.

There is absolutely nothing different happening with the Dodgers brain trust. There is no original thinking. They are just trying to out quant and gain small edges. There is no brilliance.

Theo Epstein and Maddon were Dodgers most important recent failures and it will affect them for years.

They don't even have an exciting positional player. Angels got Trout, Nats got Harper, Rockies got Arenado, Orioles got Machado. Who do the Dodgers got? Their best positional player right now is Trayce Thompson. LMAO. They got too many dinosaurs on the team. They need to dump Crawford & Gonzalez. They also need to come to the realization that Pederson can't hit. More importantly, they need a new stadium. They need to create a hitter's park. The Dodgers just can't score in that stadium.

Joc Pederson has an OPS+ of 145. How does that equate to "can't hit"? Also, Seager is a great young player at a premium spot.

If they can solve their dumpster fire in the pen, they still have a shot. The NL West is weak.

    1. Utley breaks guy's leg last year.
    2. syndergaard throws at Utley tonight and gets tossed in the third inning.
    3. Utley jacks 2 and drives in 5 and it looks like the dodgers are gonna shitcan the mets tonight.

cant make that stuff up. pretty incredible.

If he knew he was getting tossed he might have hit him.

I think he should have got a warning. Threw well behind him.

Dodgers designate for assignment Carl Crawford. Surprised the nerds don't see some queer value there.

Surprised and sad to see this chapter winding down but am comforted knowing more fail to come.

Moneyball was pretty hep in 2006.
