It was to give the readers here a sense of what officers are feeling like here in Chicago. Did you SEE me type my opinion? My opinion is irrelvant to that post. They are more than welcome to show up in court to testify that the police held them for 6 hours.....in the station, where there are cameras and microphones that would verify their statements.



Keep in mind, that at most scenes, when the police ask for witnesses, if the people dont have much to add, they wont have them sign anything. Someone that says THEY EXECUTED HIM!, isnt much of a witness. The people inside the burger king may have seen him for a minute or two, but probably wouldnt have seen anything down the street when he ran around the building and out into the street.


To answer your question, they were in a very black area, where people dont like the police and even the manager of the BK lied to say the cops were deleting files.

If people have proof of anything, they are more than welcome to provide any evidence and bring it up in court and swear under oath that its true.

In the LaQuan video, all you needed to know, essentially, was that:

He had just committed a felony(s) (not on video, but the reports are out there)
He was armed with a dangerous weapon (on video)
He was resisting arrest (reports came out, but no audio on video)
He was fleeing the scene (on video)
He was a danger to people (on video)

at that point, he could be shot by officers, using their right to deadly force (you would need to know the law)

when he drops the knife, he is no longer a threat (on video, but you need to know the law)

the reason they likely didnt use mace is because you normally use mace when the person doesnt have a weapon.

Not only did he HAVE a deadly weapon, he also MAY have had a gun in his jeans (they werent sure), and he was also acting so crazy (likely due to the PCP) and had shown so much aggression and strength in the parking lot (stabing at a cop in his car and slashing a tire) that they would be risking their own lives trying to get close enough to him to effectively administer the mace (or a taser for that matter). You would be well within a range for him to run at you and slash you if the mace didnt work (it probably wouldnt have done much), and the tasers dont always fire, nor do they always kick out a strong voltage (50000 but sometimes 1500 wats).

a taser or mace would have not been a good, safe call here, when you are completely justified to use the gun and not risk your own life.

Just as we are being assured that crime is coming under control (which it is in many areas outside of the inner cities) the citizens of Baltimore report that they’ve broken the all time per capita murder record for a single year. And the telling part of the statistic is that they managed the feat almost entirely after the Freddie Gray riots. (Baltimore Sun)

Blood was shed in Baltimore at an unprecedented pace in 2015, with mostly young, black men shot to death in a near-daily crush of violence.

On a per-capita basis, the year was the deadliest ever in the city. The year’s tally of 344 homicides was second only to the record 353 in 1993, when Baltimore had about 100,000 more residents.

The killings were on pace with recent years in the early months of 2015 but skyrocketed after the unrest and rioting of late April. In five of the next eight months, killings topped 30 or 40 a month.
There is some literal gallows humor in the fact that the Baltimore Sun reports that the record murder rate has led to “renewing calls for new gun laws.” (Roughly 90% of the killings were done with firearms, which won’t come as much of a shock.) I’m not sure if any of the residents have been following the election news for the past couple of months, but their former mayor and governor has been running a campaign based largely on his success in passing some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation in their fair city. Also of note is that fact that this dubious honor was only the per capita record because Baltimore has been bleeding citizens for two decades and the population has plunged in the six figure range. It’s simply not a safe place for law abiding citizens to live.

Perhaps someone could ask Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake what she thinks of the current state of gun laws. Or possibly the better question would be to ask her latest Chief of Police how many of the guns they’ve managed to confiscate from the killers they’ve brought to justice were purchased legally. I can tell you that the FBI already has a pretty good idea and on a good day it might be between six and eight percent of them. The rest were stolen or purchased on the black market by people who don’t go through background checks or stand on line at a sporting goods store to make sure that they’re law abiding citizens.

Meanwhile, Baltimore’s cops have continued to adopt an unofficial “stand back and let it all be” attitude in some sketchy situations, at least until they see what happens to their fellow officers currently facing a series of trials down at the courthouse. Yes, yes… I know. You’re going to remind me that the Ferguson Effect isn’t real and it’s all in my evil little mind, right? Tell that to Baltimore. City Hall has taken a get tough approach to law enforcement, but they decided to target the cops instead of the gangs. The results are on display with this sad milestone.

I’m not sure if any of the residents have been following the election news for the past couple of months, but their former mayor and governor has been running a campaign based largely on his success in passing some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation in their fair city. Also of note is that fact that this dubious honor was only the per capita record because Baltimore has been bleeding citizens for two decades and the population has plunged in the six figure range. It’s simply not a safe place for law abiding citizens to live.

Perhaps someone could ask Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake what she thinks of the current state of gun laws. Or possibly the better question would be to ask her latest Chief of Police how many of the guns they’ve managed to confiscate from the killers they’ve brought to justice were purchased legally. I can tell you that the FBI already has a pretty good idea and on a good day it might be between six and eight percent of them. The rest were stolen or purchased on the black market by people who don’t go through background checks or stand on line at a sporting goods store to make sure that they’re law abiding citizens.

Meanwhile, Baltimore’s cops have continued to adopt an unofficial “stand back and let it all be” attitude in some sketchy situations, at least until they see what happens to their fellow officers currently facing a series of trials down at the courthouse. Yes, yes… I know. You’re going to remind me that the Ferguson Effect isn’t real and it’s all in my evil little mind, right? Tell that to Baltimore. City Hall has taken a get tough approach to law enforcement, but they decided to target the cops instead of the gangs. The results are on display with this sad milestone.

Also, when police initiate contact with someone, they write up a "Contact Card". It shows that they are being proactive and getting out and speaking with people, and getting info for potential arrests and looking for things that are suspect.

this year compared to last, for a one month period, they were at 11,000 last year....they're at 2000 this year.

This great city has turned to shit thanks to the ghetto rats who shoot and kill each other and yet not one politician has speaks up about this? Have his "brothers and sisters" stop being such dicks to minorities and maybe they won't be as hated...

Granted all positions of authority are going to be hated to some degree, but the % of asshole cops is just not ok anymore. They can't get away with what they used to thanks to technology, it seems that's what they are really pissed about.
