The way it looks to me is over the past 2 weeks since they initiated the Beta they have expanded it to more and more users and it seems mostly everyone has this or the wire option now. And wire speeds have improved greatly since then.
A lot of people who have been waiting for checks it seems have been told to cancel them and use BTC wds which is pretty good considering they are speedy.

You frequently read and post in the Merge Network: Carbon/ Sportsbook/ PlayersOnly - Deposit/ Withdrawal Thread and therefore know very well that not everyone received BTC as a withdrawal option.

Ive spent some time on poker scout and ALL the complaints about cash outs then compare the reviews for wpn.. wow day/night..
Traffic for wpn upupup and merge down/down/down..
I.remember when acr had the same traffic as carbon . It was a ghost town and i really.believed thetes no way there staying open but they alwayss had the player funds held seperatly good promotions and rake back and cash outs..

I cant tell u how manybtimes the ceo tried something and then would apologize to every one when it didnt. Work...at least he is trying and honest.

Could this be a sign that they are indeed financially insolvent, and that they are trying to cut down on the players who withdraw?
Think about it... if they kick off the players who do most of the withdrawals, they will be closer to their ideal of rarely having to pay people out (deposits + the same money cycling back and forth, paying rake).
Not unusual. I know multiple people who were banned outright from Hold Em games over the past few years for the same reason and this was at a time when cashouts were flying out.
Anyhow this message was mass sent out to a bunch of people and most of those messages were followed by a message stating that the original message that you posted was sent out on accident. I know who the player is who was sent this message and he may have gotten a follow up message stating it was a mistake like many others did. If he didn't then I would say he is the same or close to the same caliber of players who I have seen restricted or outright banned in the past.
Seems ROW players are getting wires faster than ever. Some processed in as little as hours and most within a week. Lot of people who have small checks pending for under 1k are being offered WU or MG to get the money there faster. I've seen other people report they had their check wd method eliminated and are being offered BTC which have been fast. Since bitcoin launched I have gotten 2 of those with a 3rd pending as have many others.
It is very encouraging to say the least to to see them pick up the pace on the payments
Just for them to send the message out even if on accident means this is something Merge has plans to do because you don't write up a message like that if you don't intend to cut some winners off and as you stated they have done that in the past.
No offense china but one day it might be you that gets cut off if you are crushing and if that happens your tone towards Merge will change completely from defending them as much as you do.
I get the fact they have been good to you over the years but when it comes to money that can change at any given moment with anyone, especially a gambling network.
Why would I take offense to this?
Also FWIW the vast majority of people that have banned or have had their tables limited have been severe HU or 3 handed specialists that only play HU and 3 handed vs specific players and more or less pay very little rake and only withdraw which costs the site money.In other words some guys that were winning like 8 to 12 bb 100 fit the demographic of who was getting banned and quit anytime a 4th player joined.
While I do prefer to play as short as possible I play anything from HU to full ring and I have probably generated more limit hold em rake than any player in the history of the site since 2009 and if I am not at the top I am very close to the top which is opposite of the paragraph above.
Also the amount of tables I can play at have been limited but have you seen me bitch about this once? If they were ever to take away my ability to play, I play on other sites as well. It would be no different if Bovada went down tomorrow or any of the other sites I play on went down tomorrow. I move on.
Also I have not defended them once but your not the first one to say this. I just know the history with them better than just about anyone because I have played here more than most and I read up on this more than most importantly I carefully do my homework before I play anywhere.
On the other hand most people (not directing this at you ) posting about this have no clue what is happening and are just throwing shit on walls and hoping it sticks.
I have never defended their cashouts being slow this year and never told anyone to deposit money there. I just know how long cashouts were taking I believed they would get better(I've seen stuff like this before) . I know their speeds now (they are better). And I know that every week that goes by they are improving.
I've done nothing but good things for people regarding this site this year. I have spent at least 36-48 hours helping people setting up their bitcoin stuff and answering general questions about things when I have no obligation to do that.
Also regarding this thread title about them removing skrill. Well those skrills were turned to wires and paid out last month. Every ROW person I know and have seen post about a wire since then have gotten them in less than 10 days for the most part. One of my buddys got his processed and in his bank in 2 days as well. So it looks like they have found alternate ways to pay out by providing all ROW with wires or Bitcoin or both and have cranked them out.
Same with a lot of U.S. players and many have gotten 2-3 BTC cashouts within the first 2-3 weeks of launch and many others have had the wires fly in like the ROW I reported above and they seem to be operating much smoother with much larger volumes of payouts going out.

The only reason I say no offense is because I have nothing against Merge but can see how people might think that I do. I just call it as I see it with any situation and would love all of these sites to succeed but from what we've learned over the years that this won't always happen.
I don't think Merge ever had intentions of shafting it's customers in anyway but I do think they could handle things differently especially on the cashout timing front. At times they have been way better then they have over the past 6 months but it's been a bit too long to rectify the current issues so you can see why people are skeptical regarding the financials of a company that has had a decrease in traffic.
Merge wouldn't be the first to cut off winners of the networks currently serving Americans. Bovada has cut some people who crush off too usually not all the way but they force them to go to checks only and no bankwire claiming they are "known" players, even though some aren't.
Carbon lost their Skrill account supposedly based on this paragraph: "11.4. It is strictly forbidden to use your Skrill Account for any illegal purposes including but not limited to fraud and money laundering. We will report any suspicious activity to the relevant law enforcement agency. You are prohibited from using your Skrill Account in an attempt to abuse, exploit or circumvent the usage restrictions imposed by a merchant on the services it provides."
Lock Poker also lost their Skrill account at a certain point!
