One of my favorite websites, although the content is a little stale. This guy reverse scams Nigerian e-mailers. I literally got in trouble at work a few years ago because I spent an entire work week on this site.

There's stale, and there's 8 years without any updates. In it's time though this was a quality site.

The mooks caught on and it was no longer viable as a sport.

If it's just some 3rd world scammer and there's no-one in earshot I just let rip with the most offensive stream of abuse I can muster until they hang up. If it's someone from the UK who might be able to get my name and address then I'm a bit more circumspect.

I got my first fake Microsoft call today and I haven't had a land line in 15 years. It sounded like they were calling from a payphone in a crowded mall.

I got a disturbing call from "Dell", with the same hacker story.

The disturbing part was the fact that the had my full name, e-mail address, and Dell service tag number, meaning they really got my info from Dell (probably stolen by employees there).

They directed me to http://dellsoftwarehelp.com (safe to look at it, but don't download anything obv).

I messed with them for over 15 minutes until they finally got the picture and hung up on me. The reverse pranking really gets going toward the end.

I recorded it and cut out the waiting/hold stuff. Apologies for the buzz in the background, as I used crude recording equipment, as I wasn't ready for this.

Should have recorded it, it was a good one today. I got into it good with him. His comebacks were okay but I had him groaning a couple times.

I hung up, and he called right back to continue it. I gave him kudos for calling back and calling me a fucker for hanging up.

The latest scam calls are now Punjab's claiming they are from the US Treasury department and there is a "judgement" against you, and if you don't act right away you will be in "very much trouble". They try to sound very serious and will leave messages saying things like "if you do not call us, well, good luck to you sir", or "it would be very foolish of you to not call us back and take care of this very serious situation immediately".

Linux isn't hard to use. I only use MS software for very specific uses. Professional issues where there is little choice due to the application. MS has been an idiot company for idiots for over a decade.

hadnt had these calls for months but have had about 5 in the past week.

interesting one i had tonight. i had some spare time so was making him repeat everything, making typos. asked him to call back later when my son was home because "im no good at computers"
had him on the phone about 15 or 20 minutes and eventually i say this must be due to windows 10 because my son just upgraded the computer yesterday and now this has happened. at first he says no but i kept insisting what a coincidence it is and he takes the hint and says yes sir it probably is due to the upgrade your son did.
i tell him im going to kick my sons ass when hes gets home from school and confiscate his playstation. also he is supposed to be going to a party on the weekend now hes grounded and will be sitting in his bedroom by himself all weekend.

mr indian scammer apparently had a conscious because he then said he was just looking into the 'server logs' and it was not my sons fault because it would have happened even on the old system.

i thought it was a nice gesture for him to 'cover' for my son but i still felt obligated to make it rain with racial abuse when i got bored and decided to end the call
