For all you police haters who thinks every police officer is a thug who is looking for an excuse to kill you, you have to keep in perspective there are over 1 million police officers in the US (I looked it up). I donno how many high leverage police interactions with a potential for escalation there are a day with the public, but say it is only 1 per officer, so that is 1 million potential bad situations a day. So if you collected every headline across the nation of an interaction with a negative outcome like this I am guessing it would still only be a tiny fraction of interactions. Well under 1%.
Cliffs: The US is a big country with a lot of police officers (the vast majority of them good) and a lot of non police officers (also the vast majority good) However, statistically, shit is gonna happen, especially when you throw in the fact that a humongous % of the population are "criminals" based on ridiculous drug laws that police officers didn't make, but still have to enforce as part of their job description.
