In fairness who else in the division has anything for her?

So I just watched those 2 events and Kimbo.. Did Shamrock go out there or did anyone else think that was premature? I mean when Shamrock locked up Kimbo it looked like Kimbo tapped at the beginning. IDK, shenanigans. Overall I thought the Bellator fights were way more entertaining then the ReichStarter Shindig.

It actually did look like Kimbo tried to tap once when he was belly down. After he got out of it and tagged Shamrock it was clear that Ken was done(legit or not). I wonder if it was a Pride style fix where Ken and the ref knew about it but Kimbo didn't. That would explain why the tap was ignored.

you can argue a lot of things about that fight, but the finish is not one of them, IMO. Shammy hasn't been able to take a punch in over a decade, when he was being KO'd by power punchers like Kazushi Sakuraba and Robert Berry. That fight NEEDED to end as soon as Kimbo touched him and he went down. There's no room for letting him take any extra damage at all when you are talking about a man over half a century old in there. If you saw how Ken went down at the end, leaving himself WIDE OPEN for Kimbo to throw the bombs while he sat sideways on the ground with his head against the cage and never being a guy who knew how to cover up properly to stop from getting pounded in the face...

kinda silly to compare the UFC event to the bellator tho, since the Bellator one was one of their 4 big yearly events they actually advertise and go all out for, and the other was a UFC Fightpass event, but I still preferred the UFC event, as Joanna Jędrzejczyk is easily one of the most fun fighters to watch right now. The main card pacing on fightpass cards is top shelf, all fights, no commercials. The Bellator card, well, slightly less so.

That's why it would work. Big John is the one ref that seems beyond reproach. Let's not forget that in EliteXC, Seth Petruzelli was offered a bonus to stand with Kimbo and Scott Coker co-promoted some EliteXC events when he ran Strikeforce. Wake up mma sheeple.

refs have the discretion to stop a fight sooner or later if its in the interest of a safety; some fighters can take a lot of abuse so the ref will give them the benefit of the doubt for a few more seconds. shamrock is 56 or something and his button is perm half pressed, so this was a totally appropriate stoppage. kimbo's half taps only reinforce my opinion that this was a stiff work, btw.

Sakuraba is GOD. Reading the other post by Sonatine saying that Shamrock is 56 (I hella skipped all the bs and just watched the fights), that not letting Kimbo go down on Shamrock was perhaps for the best. I had a hard time watching the girl fight because it was so lopsided and I get physically ill when I see a woman beaten bloody like that fight went. That Joanna went full Matrix in there.

calling sakuraba a power puncher is awkward.

    or purely sarcastic.

I mucked it up by putting Berry in there, I should have just called Sakuraba a pure power puncher and called it a day.

A lots being said about how Shamrock deliberately pressed up against the bottom of Kimbos chin instead of actually attacking the neck itself. One person (who rolls) told me his first thought was "Ken's deliberately fucking up that choke.. I bet he lets Kimbo escape then lets himself get KO'd" and before he could finish the thought, Kimbo had escaped and ko'd him.

reason I asked was because I knew it was never called off officially, and Ken's saying it's still on.

"Is he still planning to do his bareknuckle boxing event?

“Yeah, well actually we’re in the process right now. I can’t really talk much about a lot of the stuff we’re working through right now, but yeah that’s gonna happen. And we’re just waiting to put the all the, cross the t’s and dot the I’s right now. So right now it’s looking really good. It’s something I’m really interested in. No doubt.”"
