Do you think being homeless would work? Like you said, you wouldn't get caught crossing state lines or committing robberies. You just grow a beard and hide in plain sight. Sleep in the alley, scavenge what you can, beg if you have to. It would suck, but being homeless for a few months sure beats years of prison. You can quit doing it and make your move once the heat dies down.
its definitely an idea, but agree with dragons...might draw too much heat from getting roused by the cops...

their best bet is to try to get to NYC...they get in there and blend in with the masses, they'll disappear...I can only imagine how many famous people that I've probably walked past in the city and not noticed because im too in a hurry trying to get where im going along with everybody else in NYC...I highly doubt theyd be outed if they blended in there...

Just watched an hour show talking about this, and I am betting they had someone pick them up. Neither have any type of survival/outdoor skills, so them just traversing through the wilderness with no real food(going on 8 days now)just doesn't seem to be possible.

They were talking about this 5 mile perimeter they have setup and hoping they are just trying to wait it out or something, but I just think that is way too small to have trapped them.

The prison worker was going to drive them 7hrs somewhere, so they probably were just using her the whole time and had no intention of relying on that ride, and had another plan the whole time.

Also they were talking about the fact that it has been so quiet...too quiet with no robberies/thefts etc makes you think they are long gone.

I mean they knew she was going to get busted within about 30 seconds, they needed to get her out of the plan aas soon as possible. Get the tools and what not and be done with her.

The one dude is literally a genius. You have to assume this was one of the best planned (and executed) escapes ever. They probably thought of everything, and no way they went through all this with no one waiting for them. They knew that past escapees downfall was not having a plan once outside, and getting caught easily having to committ crimes trying to hit the one outer on the river.

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

I haven't followed this at all, but I did hear in passing today that the cops are going door-to-door looking for them. If they keep that up there is a high probability that at the least one or two innocent dogs will get popped by some "hero" cop who is jumping fences into backyards he doesn't belong in.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A female prison worker's agreement to drive a getaway car for two escaped inmates was "Plan B" and the convicted killers had another plot that allowed them to flee, Clinton County Sheriff David Favro said.

Richard Matt, 48, and David Sweat, 35, both convicted of murder, remained at large for an 11th day on Tuesday after busting out of Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York, about 20 miles (32 km) south of the Canadian border.

A manhunt staged by more than 800 law enforcement officers combing dense woodlands near the prison appeared to be winding down on Tuesday. Schools in the surrounding area were open but outdoor activities remained suspended, said a spokeswoman for the Saranac Central School District.

Authorities said Joyce Mitchell, an industrial training supervisor in the prison tailor shop who has been criminally charged in the escape, had agreed to drive the getaway car but got cold feet and never showed up. Instead, she checked herself into a hospital on Saturday, June 6, with symptoms of a panic attack.

"I honestly don't think she was 'Plan A,'" Favro said in an interview on CNN. "I think she was 'Plan B.'"

After hatching their elaborate escape plan - which involved cutting through steel walls, slipping through pipes and out through a manhole beyond the prison's fortress-like walls - the pair must have had a more fool-proof means of fleeing the area than depending on Mitchell, Favro said.

"Multiple people" were likely involved in the brazen escape that was discovered at 5:30 a.m. on June 6, after guards found the men's beds in their neighboring cells stuffed with cloth dummies, Favro said.

Mitchell, 51, who is married to another prison worker and has an adult son who has denied his mother was involved, is charged with providing hacksaw blades, glasses and a screwdriver bit to Matt and Sweat, both convicted murderers.

She has pleaded not guilty to promoting prison contraband and criminal facilitation. If convicted of the charges, she could face up to eight years behind bars.

So apparently Joyce Mitchell had relations with at least one of the escapees, if not both.

BUT the really weird thing for me is that her husband works at the prison as well! And he possibly aided them too.

The killer was 'very handsome and, in all frankness, very well endowed', retired detective David Bentley told the New York Post this week.

I wondered what I would do in this situation.. If I escaped with someone else, I would definitely want to split from them as quickly as possible. I would also make sure not to tell them shit about my plans.

Best bet would probably to try to get your ass over to Venezuela and then to Russia via Eastern Europe. Obviously much easier said than done, but I would think Mexico would only be a temporary solution and Canada would be no good.

The problem is that along the way you would need fake papers to get across the Atlantic.

They just shot one of them, other is on run.

Neither captured yet but it's about over.

Found DNA in a remote cabin and narrowed down search area, it was pretty much a wrap after that.

I can't wait til they come out with the "I almost got away with it" on this shit.

Update : One dead, other on run. He will be dead in under 60 min I would bet.

Apparently Sweat lost them....for now. Doubt that lasts long though.

Basically what happened was the other guy tried to shoot a guy in a camper from long distance, to try to kill him and take camper. He missed, guy just heard gunshots then xalked police. Realized about 20 min later the camper was hit by gunfire, called them back to tell police that. They swooped in and got him

So maybe he was out there by himself trying to jack something, and Sweat was nearby but not with him. That would explain how he has temporarily got away.

But seriously if Sweat beats them now and somehow gets away, he is fucking GOD. His probably being chased and tracked by dogs, people, and every fucking chopper available

If you're an escaped felon with nothing to lose, isn't the optimal move to kill your associate, make body disappear and leave misleading clues for investigators?

Perhaps like in the ocean, and leave evidence that you're gone, too. Long-term though, not sure. DNA makes a lot of previously viable plans null.

No your optimal move if you are in survival mode, in the middle of the woods, is to stick together.

2 heads, and anything else are better than one to get food, survive, keep lookout, rob, steal etc while on the run.

They just said they found two sets of footprints where first guy was killed, so no idea how Sweat is eluding them. They have to be right on top of him.
