I've never said anything to you about this, but you are the biggest FL homer I have ever seen, and it's beyond ridiculous.

I have lived in both states. I have been going to FL since the early 70's. I have a shitload of family that lives all over the state, and I lived in FL for 3 years in the late 80's and early 90's. The only state that I have ever traveled through that is more boring than Florida is Kansas. I have been all over the country and I would say FL would probably be one of the last places I would choose to move to.

I also lived in So Cal for a spell in the early 90's, and have traveled all over California. Simply put, there is no fucking comparison. Florida is a nice place to visit for a week, but living there blows. Just the bugs and the humidity are enough for me to say never again. Throw in the scumbags and over abundance of old people in the southern FL, and the rednecks of the north and you have a clusterfuck of shit. Add in the highly conservative nature of FL and it is a no brainer, it is definitely not a top 5 place to live. And I can back that up with data.

Florida doesn't even crack the top 35 places to live, while California has 3 of the top 10 on this list...

And yes, California has earthquakes and drought. But in FL you have the chance of hurricanes, and an abundance of sink holes. You also have cold winters that wipe out all the orange crops. It's kind of a wash IMO.

California has so much more to offer it's truly not even close. Skiing in the winter, beaches in the summer, wine country, travel destinations like nowhere else. FL has South Beach and the Everglades, and that's pretty much it.

Yes, FL has more affordable housing, but that only matters if you are living on a budget. Let's say money is no object, where do you think most people would choose? FL or CA? LOL... Only a true homer would pick FL.

This has got to be a joke.. California is huge so it's tough to quantify as a whole but the only way FL > CA debate passes the null is if we're talking about its worst places like Fresno.

California (especially in cities close to the water) absolutely shits on Florida in essentially every category. This is especially true for weather and dipshits per capita. Florida is like Arizona with a beach, it's a mecca for all kinds of ghetto trash.

Anyone that actually thinks Florida is even comparable to California, let alone better, just should not be taken seriously. My only problem with California is the cost of living and the taxes, which are wayyyy too fucking high but that's a separate discussion.

As far as Vegas, honestly you can not even come close to competing with the weather here. No humidity with 115 degree heat still kicks the shit out of 100 degree heat with 90% RH, and it's not even close. I lived on the east coast most of my life, it honestly is no comparison. We also have more things to do here than in FL. One cool thing about living in the north east is that you have a lot of great getaways very close for all seasons. FL does not have that at all, Vegas does though. As far as the trash and scum that live here, well, there's really no getting around that in any large metropolitan area, but I still think Vegas beats FL in that respect as well. Haitians is all I have to say, and I'll leave it at that.

Yesterday afternoon I went surfing in essentially perfect conditions, some dolphins passed by within like 30 feet of us. Afterwards, I walked with my girlfriend to a sweet local spot for dinner (there are no chains of any sort) and everyone is cool. There is an overwhelmingly consistent positive vibe throughout the neighborhood and at the park by the ocean (5 min walk). People are always out walking their dogs and going for a jog. Everybody is always smiling.. No one is a nig. It's rough man.
