Tom Lehrer once said that Base 8 is just like Base 10, if you're missing 2 fingers.
I can't go for Base 12 because then you're using A and B as numbers, and I just can't accept that.
That's a good reason to not like hexadecimal systems, but the Base 12 system usually uses ᘔ (or a script X which my font doesn't have ATM) and Ɛ, rather than A and B. Problem solved.
