Be at least 21 years old. Members of the armed forces stationed in Missouri must be at least 18 years old. Their spouses must be at least 21 years old.
Resident of Missouri. Non-resident permits are issued to members of the armed forces stationed in Missouri and their spouses.
Be a citizen of the United States
has not been convicted, or pled guilty or nolo contendre to any felony
have no weapons-related misdemeanor conviction
have not been convicted within the past five years of a violent misdemeanor or have not been convicted of two or more misdemeanors involving DWI or possession or abuse of a controlled substance within the past five years
not be a fugative
not be currently charged with a felony
not have been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces
not have been adjudged mentally incompetent within the past five years
received the required firearms safety training at least eight hours in length
have not the respondent of a valid full order of protection

the above conditions probably eliminate a lot of PFAers...and a $100 fee is a likely deal breaker for the remaining

There are rules and then there is what actually happens. I have my Missouri CCW permit as does pretty much every adult male that I know. I went to the Sherrif's office, paid $50 I think and filled out a form. Bam, done.

The funny thing though to a lot of people is that Missouri is also an open carry state. So you can legally carry a firearm on you at all times as long as its not concealed. I do occassionally see some moron walking down the street or at Wal-Mart with a pistol on his hip. No particular reason other than he can. So in essence the CCW is useless unless you intend to conceal your weapon. You can legally have a gun in your vehicle, home, or on your person without it.

I stick up for cops a lot because they have an impossible job in "poor" areas, but they really shoot themselves in the foot sometimes.

This Ferguson is a weird place, at least the way it's being described to outsiders. I read that they haven't had a homicide this year, so it can't be a terrible neighborhood. What gives?

Also lol at the cops.... I read a story where they arrested a guy for destruction of property for bleeding on their uniforms after they beat the shit of him.

Why is that hard to believe no one has been killed over 8 months? only 20k people live there.

In fairness, no the city is not some crime heaven. Higher than average crime rates though.
