i haven't been following along, can someone fill me in on the scoring?

would winning the one drop for $15 megas give you a huge edge?

or is it minimal because of the field size?

or does the size of the score not even matter?

    Heres the edge:

    1st 50
    2nd 45
    3rd 40
    4th 35
    5th 30
    6th 25
    7th 20
    8th 15
    9th 10
    10th-18th 5
    Cash 1

All Points are worth double in events with a 10k buy in or higher
But here would be a disadvantage:

An additional point per 100 entries is awarded to players who
finish in the top 18. No rounding off. An event with 87
players gets no point bonus, a 105 player field gets a 1 point
    bonus, a 247 player field gets a 2 point bonus, and a 1425 player
field would award a 14 point bonus to all players in top 18.

so 40 players register for one drop, my boy scotty clark finishes 6th and gets 25 points even though he didn't cash?

In order to receive points, a player must cash.

Double fail. First the one drop is paying 20% of the field so if 40 enter 6th would get paid. Secondly is this little rule:
In order to receive points, a player must cash.

i haven't been paying attention and was hoping someone with some time to kill like yourself would fill me in

i am using the one drop as an example

    why do you stick around?

most shenanigan tourneys like this are usually kept out of these fantasy drafts - ladies events, etc.

Tonight it's insomnia. Typically it's sheer boredom. Nothing better to do then fire up the tilt o whirl.

The advantage is that events over 10k award double points and with such a small field it is a much better chance that someone who is a name pro will be going deep in this event, so lets say the field is only 40 players, it gives you a really good shot at scooping double points on a final table finish without having to have one of your players go super deep in a big field event.

This event will be pretty much a mega high roller sit n go, so if you happened to scoop the winner you get double first place points. The list of players was announced already so it wouldn't be a bad decision to lock up some of them.

I personally did not take one drop in to account. I was looking more for guys who routinely go deep in huge field events. So I can scoop as many bonus points as possible.

I also looked for guys who I knew would play the odd ball tournaments, not just non nlhe events, but events that include games that are outside of a regular horse rotation.

You win some, you lose some. Worst 24 hr period I've had in a long time so sometimes you just have to shoot it off. What can you do?

    no Seniors, Ladies, or Employee
    events will count.
This one isn't against any criteria so it counts

Templar really only has 6 players since his last two picks will play >5 events total unless she binks one early, so I'm fine with that.

To round out my "hypothetical fantasy team" (I'll call them Team Gilligan's Island"), add in Justin Smith and Dan Kelly

Gilligan's Island looks good for team non-drafted and hypothetical. Two solid additions.

This was never run by me. You said before the bet, Here are my six. they will beat your team. I said ok, so the bet was your 6 vs. my team. You can't add more players. If you want to, you can keep your initial 6, and I will drop Clark and Jett.

No it's fine as a 8 against 6, I made the bet without really looking into any of the details, so that's on me. It's onl;y a signature bet anyway

The added two players were just to make a full roster our bet stays as is with my first six picks

No, really, I'm good with how it is.

    Just to clarify everything,

    My Team vs. Templar
Steve Gross --has been busting his ass to make it on the live tournament scene
Melanie Weisner -- see Steve Gross and change "his" to "her": she also is a phenomonal Heads-Up tournament player
Taylor Paur -- See Steve Gross
Joe Serock -- been playing really well lately
Andrey Pateychuk --should play a bunch since he is a bracelet shy of triple crown
    Roberto Romanello --same as Pateychuk

My Team as it would relate to the contest itself is the above plus Justin Smith and Dan Kelly, just to give it some versatility in PLO and other events

    Down to 15,

Here are the chip counts. A line next to the player means someone has them in the pool.
