Incredible timing. Thankfully I'm buying small bits at a time.

Edit: Bought another 0.1 BTC @ $478.40 on Coinbase. Up to 1.1 BTC total now.

    lol coinbase

Due to higher than normal buy volumes, we are unable to provide exact price quotes right now.

Instead of pausing buys entirely, we decided to give people the option to purchase bitcoin at the market price in a few days. Once your USD funds arrive, we will exchange them to bitcoin at the market price at approximately Wednesday Apr 2, 2014 at 04:57PM PDT.

Note that you can cancel your order at any time up until your bitcoin arrive from the transfer history page.

The market price of bitcoin changes frequently. Below are some recent prices to give you an idea. These do not guarantee what the price will be in a few days.
Yeah, sure. I'd love to buy bitcoin based upon an unknown price 6 days from now. Sign me up for my entire 50k.

$500 support looking for it to overshoot support in capit move and rebound above.

Draw a few trend lines and do some fib maths.

Viola. We hit $480 .. Felt it coming. Said so.

Huge selling prior to that move. Extended move at $480. Bounced to $502. I kept my plan. Didn't work.

    Trades not dead.

    Out at $526.

    +$46

Too much resistance here and I am tired of watching this

There is prolly more left in the nearer future if you are stuck. Fib retracement .618 brings you to 538 or so.

We shall see. No one gambling not knowing the truth about China. Someone was hitting it pretty hard today. It wasn't just individual speculators/gamblers

    Smart.

Technical analysis and Japanese candlesticks will only take you so far with the unpredictability and volatility inherent in bitcoin. I have been impressed by how the floor and ceilings have held, for the most part.

    Rule #1, don't lose money.

Are you a bitcoin miner in the United States? Congratulations! You are making self-employment income.

The Internal Revenue Service ruled Tuesday that Bitcoin is not a currency, but actually a taxable property. The ruling takes effect immediately and covers all past and future bitcoins mined as well as any capital gains realized by spending coins or converting them to real-world currencies.

Awesome. Deduct my computer, electricity, the room it was operating in is now a home office.

The meth required to listen to Micon podcasts, yup, deductible too, I think. Finding those old meth receipts might be tough.

    Mining just become worthwhile.

IRS declared Bitcoin to be property and subject to capital gains or losses.

The decisions does mean a headache-inducing amount of paperwork and keeping track of things. For example, if someone buys a cup of coffee with bitcoin, they have to calculate the change in value from the date they acquired the bitcoin to the date it was spent and then report that change as capital loss or gains.

    他妈的

IRS just cold-cocked Bitcoin. Can we get a time of death?

The chart is busted. There is no reason to gamble until it hits $400, the next support. Then folks will hope it bounces off that support for a score. That's one take.

Fundamentally, how seriously do you regard the IRS ruling I posted above.
On the consumer side, you gotta be an OCD/Aspergers sufferer to want to deal with that record keeping.
Same issue has to apply on the retailer side. Again, a record keeping headache with no gain in market.

But this always was just a good gamble. Right now it's just a bubble with the hope fast fading.

I cannot imagine anything that would generate any new buzz.

I imagine it'll flatten out at $400'ish after a lot of price action off $400. Up & back down.

Then it will lose attention - months from now it may act up - surprise everyone with a spike up. All the pain may then be forgotten and the degenerates jump back in.

So, yeah, for now this may be the end.
