1- 10-day forecasts are not very accurate. Forecasts don't get accurate until 2-3 days out and even then sometimes they're not.
2- Football was meant to be played in the elements. Period. Tear off every faggoty fucking roof and play the Super Bowl in Antarctica.

Wind Chill, Temperature, and the Coldest Games in NFL History
Let's briefly take a look at some of the coldest games in NFL History with respect to temperature and wind chill values.
The chart below shows the top 15 coldest NFL games based on the actual air temperature (degrees F) around game time. As you can see, based on the actual air temperature, the top two coldest games were the 1967 Ice Bowl (Cowboys vs Packers) and the 1982 Freezer Bowl (Chargers vs Bengals). Although the 1967 Ice Bowl was colder based on the actual temperature, some have argued that the 1982 Freezer Bowl was actually the colder of the two games because the winds were stronger during the game, thereby creating lower windchill values. Let's take a closer look at these two nasty weather playoff games with respect to temperature and wind chill.
The chart on the lower left below is a comparison of the actual air temperature between the Ice Bowl and Freezer Bowl around the time the game was played (Noon to ~ 4 pm). The actual air temperature for the Ice Bowl (blue line) ranged from 5 to 8 degrees colder than the Freezer Bowl (red line). The chart on the lower right is a comparison of the winds speeds (top portion of image on lower right) and wind chill (bottom portion of image on the lower right) values for both games. Note that although the wind speeds around the time of the Freezer Bowl (red line) were nearly double that of the Ice Bowl (green line), the wind chill values were actually lower (colder) during the Ice Bowl (green line in the lower half of the image on the right below) .
The wind chill values shown above were generated based on the updated and revised wind chill index (WCI) that was implemented by the National Weather Service in 2001. The image on the left below briefly explains the new wind chill index and how it compares with the old wind chill index. The updated wind chill index was developed using the latest advances in science, technology and computer modeling. In addition, clinical trails were also conducted to verify and improve its accuracy. The bottom line is that the new wind chill index that was implemented in 2001 is far more robust than the old wind chill index that was developed around WWII and was based primarily on the rate at which water freezes. The wind chill chart shown on the lower right is based on the new and improved wind chill index. Note that in general, the wind chill values using the new wind chill index will be warmer compared to the old wind chill index.
Going back to our comparison of the 1967 Ice Bowl and the 1982 Freezer Bowl, the image below simply compares the average conditions during both games. When considering both the actual air temperature and the wind chill values (based on the new wind chill equation), the 1967 Ice Bowl was actually the "colder" of the two games.
Just as a comparison to these two historic games, here is the latest forecast conditions for Green Bay, Wisconsin for the upcoming playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers on January 5, 2014. Note that this forecast is subject to change!

Finally, other factors that likely made the 1967 Ice Bowl even more uncomfortable was the fact that Lambeau Field in 1967 was a relatively shallow open bowl with a wide open north end zone. In comparison, the 1982 Freezer Bowl was played at River Front Stadium which was a deeper bowl and was completely enclosed (more sheltered).
Me and kunt were at the 6th coldest playoff game (according to this blog), NE & Tennessee in '04. 4 degrees, 10 below wind chill, night game. Fun time. If you are used to going to cold weather football games, it's not that difficult to dress for zero. Cold is easy to account for, and if you are properly prepared, there's nothing better than cold weather football outdoors (except when the beer lines all freeze on your side of the stadium, and the plastic bottles ice up at the bottleneck before you can even drink the things; Gillette Hot Cocoa was God, tho). Everything looks sharper, sounds different, more barrel fires in the lots so you can keep warm... Plus with a hat and hood and whatever else you have on your ears, you can quickly close your eyes and sorta shut out the rest of the world and bask in your Dr McGillicuddy's-aided glow.
The thing people always underestimated was just how f'n cold the concrete ground gets, and your feet can freeze just from standing in the stadium. Socks and boots are to be chosen very carefully, or your day will suck hard. Any green bay season ticket holder will be fine. They know by now how to handle the cold, and even tho they've never been to a football game quite as cold, they probably have had to deal with these types of temps at least a few times in their lives already.
Anyone who has dealt with cold knows that it isn't so much the temp it is the damn wind. Sitting in the upper deck of a stadium yes that concrete gets cold as fuck and your feet are guaranteed to freeze fast. There are only so many layers of socks you can fit, because we don't buy footwear with multiple layers in mind.
You need a bunch of those hot packs or something to shove in there, because yeah the feet temp is brutal and when that wind starts whipping it is worse. No protection like on upper body when you can wear 4 layers of heavy shit if you want.
I could deal with almost any temp but when you factor in the wind whole different story.

The punters and kickers used to do all types of crazy shit to the balls (like heating them up, overinflating) before they introduced "K balls" in 1999. These are balls specifically for FG's, extra points and kickoffs and nothing else. They are guarded like the secret service does the president, and are only given to a designated coach 45 min before the game by an official so no shenanigans can ensue.wasn't there another post in another similar thread where someone said they actually kick warm balls (no homo)
The official then watches the person who is responsible for the K balls as he roughs them up and wipes them down to make them better for the kicker. Basically the balls do not leave the officials sight right out of the package so they make sure both kickers are kicking the same performance balls.

I have 2 foot drifts outside today. It's a balmy 8 degrees F.
Its -16 here in the NW burbs of Chicago. I have a small spot on my patio where its getting some sun, and the wind is blocked, so I now have over 25 birds sitting by my door, shitting all over the place. Im glad that I could provide them shelter from this weather. They repay me with frozen poop.
