if you use the ufc fighter rankings to bolster your argument, you have already lost.
they don't mean anything, to anyone. they are worse than useless, they are confusingly useless.

I have to agree. If you look at Hendricks record, besides Condit, he hasnt exactly fought anyone that impressive. GSP will probably pull the same BS he always does to make it a 5 round snooze fest. Jab Jab Hold
But like anyone with Hendricks punching power, it is possible.
if i was going to throw a bet on anyone for fun it would be Hendricks TKO 1st round

Fighting is like any other sport probably more so then most when it comes to matchups. You cant say Fighter A beat Fighter B badly and Fighter C barely beat Fighter B, so that means Fighter A will beat Fighter C.
This is GSP's nightmare of a matchup. It just is he wont be able to outwrestle JH. I think one of the huge mistakes guys make is not training what your good at because you think you cant be beat in that aspect.
I thought the only way GSP would beat JH is if JH didnt train his wrestling and GSP can take him down, but hes training it more then ever.
If GSP still outwrestles JH its just more proof that hes the best fighter on the planet.
deets on sonnen throwing fights?
i can see him doing it so im not looking for the normally predictable LOL RIGGED GTFO FAG type convo, fyi.

Dude, MacDonald does not run from any fight, & I'm not a fan of any fighter, so you even mentioning Starnes when talking about this fight or fighter is basically absurd. When the fuck did he ever run like Starnes? He has one fight that's not so exciting, & wasn't really all his fault, & people are imploring Dana White to cut him.
WTF, is he supposed to stand in the middle of the ring exchanging haymakers with killers when he's clearly the quicker, better, more accurate fighter? Just because both he & Ellenberger said it was going to be a war & it wasn't doesn't make it right to throw all the blame at MacDonald's feet. Ellenberger is just as much or more to blame since he never at any point tried to win that fight even though I believe if he did he was getting KTFO & he knew it.

I was only trying to point out Dana is not releasing the #3 ranked Welterweight anytime soon due to his skill + age. I don't care if he lays around for 3 rounds, he is not being booted from the UFC for that. If GSP loses is Dana going to release him due to his "boring" fights ...and by boring I mean the average joe watching it doesn't like it.
You should put your UFC all underdog parlay record in your signature.
Crowe I really don't understand how you find the rankings useless in my argument about how Macdonald is not going to be cut loose if he has a "boring" fight (see defn of boring above)
I'm showing you he's young and holding his own in and around some good talent in the division.
Also note you may think the rankings are useless however they are created by the UFC and provide a path of progression towards title fights/#1 contender fights. It might be the furthest from a perfect ranking system, but it is far from useless.
It's not that they are useless in your argument, it is that they are useless in every sense. The fact that the UFC has cut ranked fighters on the past is evidence enough of this, I'd think.
They are voted on by the media, and the UFC has made it clear over and over that the rankings mean nothing when it comes to matchmaking and/or title shots. I'm pretty sure Dana has outright called them meaningless once or twice, but no matter anyway. Those rankings are strictly for appearance purposes, to look more like a real sport, to give Fox some sort of number to throw next to a fighter's name, and to give the UFC one more little thing they can hold over/deny access to media members.
As far as cutting young fighters, you have it a little backwards, I think. Dana is less willing to cut established stars who would be notable draws in other organizations. Dana would have zero problem cutting a young promising fighter after a pair of shitty losses, or a shitty win and a bad loss, because he knows he's ALWAYS gonna be able to get them back.
Watching Bellator which is pretty funny. The first three fights the underdog has been at least +600. Funny listening to announcers act as if these fights are supposed to be competitive.
HOF if this actually went to PPV. Would have set record for lowest buy ever in some category.

literally tko'd him with 1 second to spare in the 1st round, up to that point I was actually giving the "mexicutioner" (that was his nickname, seriously) the round
