See, this is basically the biggest issue I have against the death penalty - (aside from the obvious fact that it costs taxpayers a SHITLOAD more overall for someone on death row vs serving life).

I am not a psycho crazy nutjob myself, but I can imagine that if I were to get a maximum sentence with pretty much no chance of seeing the outside ever again, I would probably want to be put out of my misery instead of serving multiple decades in a cell along with all of the ahem 'benefits' that come with it. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would see a lifetime in solitary as a tremendously bigger punishment than the gas chamber. All I view the death penalty as, is the easy way out. There are plenty of people in this world who murder and other shit, and don't give a shit if they die (and sometimes prefer that they would die) anyway, so why the fuck are we giving them the easy way out...and paying MORE tax dollars to boot??
The death penalty is the biggest fucking joke. Deterrent? Yeah right. Like anyone who has ever murdered thought, "Oh shit, if I do this I might get the death penalty."
