Tables are named after both major Vegas streets and neighborhoods in Vegas.

I read somewhere on twitter the people on Verizon service can't get validated for whatever reason.

Here is a video from a Las Vegas news channel:

I don't think it will be huge until they join with other states.

It would not surprise me if it had an initial "pop" when people first hear about it and want to play, but I think it will settle into relatively low traffic (at least compared to pre-Black-Friday Stars and Tilt) until other states can pahticipate.

It's based on your cell phone, which is odd, since you can easily trick the system by just leaving a cell phone sitting at a buddy's house in Nevada.

It is not clear if these cell phone location servers are using GPS methodology, or if they are using cell tower technology (or both). GPS is more accurate, but much easier to spoof.

Maybe it also checks IPs. If it doesn't, the location procedure has a huge flaw.
Stations has their own sports betting site for residents of Nevada at Sportsconnection.com so they have some experience in how to run and track people that live in the state already. im sure some fucking idiots will try to find a way to "trick" the system as you say and then they will find out that the State of Nevada doesn't fuck around when it comes to crimes against casinos or violating gambling laws in the state and they will be sitting with OJ up by the Speedway

They have Terrance Chan and a host of other people with tons of experience in the tech industry. They also supposedly have many behind the scenes people from other sites including Pokerstars. Who exactly were you expecting them to have? some clown like Lee Jones or something?

I second this notion....seeing how everyone associated with online poker was at a site that either a) stole money from the people who played there or b) were at a site that technically was breaking the law. I would think that the LAST thing a company that wanted to get a license in the state of Nevada would want to bring to the gaming control board would be someone who worked in online poker industry

Im sure I will sign up and play even though I only live 5 mins from Red Rock casino and play there several times a week already. To me, I could care less about any rakeback and would prefer that I get stations points for playing. My only hope is that these punks don't ruin what could be a good thing in the state but I hold little faith in that

HUUUUUGE day for poker in the U.S.

Now we just need other states to opt in etc.. or follow suit.

I encourage all you in NV that can play to give them tons of feedback on the rake and other stuff because these next few months could play a huge roll in setting the industry standard for online poker in the US once it expands to other states,etc.. Do us proud and if the rake is too damn high then tell them!

Where do you see that Terrence Chan is involved?

This is the team they are presenting: http://ultimatepoker.com/about-ultimate-poker/

If they have hired former Pokerstars employees, that's a good sign.

I'm not necessarily looking for a Lee Jones type, but at least someone I recognize that has been around online poker for a long time and knows what the fuck is going on. You need someone like that on the staff, or the customer service failures (and other problems) will start to pile up.

I birded the $3/$6 NL for a minute and someone with the screen name of "Micon" was sitting out at the table. He left shortly thereafter.

In the 2+2 thread there has been mention of T Chan and some other people that are involved. I think they have signed Antonio Esfandiari too.
