Is PFA really the #5 poker forum in the world?

I will admit that I haven't checked non-English poker forums, but from what I can see (from Alexa stats), PFA has the highest traffic aside from Twoplustwo, Pocketfives, Pokerstrategy, and Cardschat.

Cardschat is an SEO monster, and made a fortune during the years when affiliate programs were very profitable.

This, in turn, made their forums active, though it appears to be mostly dry poker content.

Alexa does rankings by monitoring the internet usage of people with the Alexa plugin installed. If you don't have the Alexa plugin, your traffic is meaningless to Alexa. This is the biggest flaw with Alexa's rating system, but it's still the best metric out there. For this reason, Alexa tends to favor sites with more non-internet-savvy users (since they are more likely to install garbage plug-ins like Alexa), but that would actually imply that PFA has MORE traffic than Alexa is showing, since most of our users are net-savvy.

Anyway, here are the traffic rankings right now for select poker forums. Lower number is better. For example, google is ranked 1.

    PokerStrategy: 3,475
    TwoPlusTwo: 7,233
    Pocketfives: 36,911
    Cardschat: 50,030
    PFA: 173,878
    PartTimePoker: 189,166
    FullContactPoker: 281,468
    InternetTexasHoldem: 288,878
    DD: 422,829

There are a number above 500,000 that I didn't bother to list.

Am I missing something here? Admittedly, we are a distant 5th (though probably closer to Cardschat than it appears due to a lot of their traffic being non-forum-related), but I'll be happy with 5th if it's true.

    We've officially fallen to #6.

Can we hold on before slipping out of the top 10?

Not 100% poker but anyone who plays for a living should be familiar with it.

Ditto, same can be said for DD. I never did the pw migration to 2.0
Ever since 2+2 reserved 1/4 of the screen for ads I stopped visiting there too.

Can't count this one because it's a multi-purpose site, with poker just being one of them.

Also I can't count deucescracked, since I believe the majority of traffic comes from their coaching service rather than their forum.

Same reason I didn't count Pokernews (which also has a forum, and whose traffic is greater than PFA's), because most people are visiting Pokernews for news, not the forum.

No, this website is almost all current and former poker players (some pro, some amateur), who also talk about a lot of other subjects.

Casinomeister is pretty much a site focusing on all online casinos, which is a much broader topic.

I have never even heard of "pokerstrategy." I just visited the site and checked out the forums, and although there are a lot of subforums, each subforum only has a few posts per day, some less than that.

As far as actual forum activity I would say this forum has about the same amount of activity as that site, and 2+2 is magnitudes larger.

As far as actual forum activity, I would guess 2+2 is more than all the others combined, although much of this is non poker related.

You really should measure it by US traffic rank, where you are #33,758. Because if you want to say "in the world" there's prob some Spanish poker forums or whatever that are pretty big but you've never heard of. And I think I help out by having the Alexa toolbar. I know you can somehow look up by city, and you're probably pretty high up in Orlando.

Its big outside the US. One of my guys is a coach there and he gave me his log in info to watch some vids because US arent allowed, and even using his info I couldnt get on.

I wonder how easily these stats could be manipulated by using that toolbar.
