Apparently some people aren't understanding this, so I'm going to say it again.

I do not want this forum to be the desertrunner show.

This includes two things:

1) I don't want desertrunner dominating to forum, or constantly doing the same things over and over which annoy people

2) I don't want the haters of desertrunner to turn every thread in which he appears into a bash desertrunner fest


Otherwise this forum is going to be complete shit and unreadable.

For example, in the Rob Reiner thread (which is an interesting and current topic), desertrunner made a statement he thought was true (that Reiner had stated he was happy Trump was shot), and upon being called out on it, desertrunner changed it to stating that he THOUGHT Rob Reiner was probably happy Trump got shot, which of course is a very different thing.

I don't mind people calling out desertrunner for this, and bashing him for it, because indeed he should have just said "Oops my mistake, I guess Reiner never said that", and move on. I have made similar mistakes in the past, where I believe I saw something online, but in fact I either misread it or simply read ABOUT it without ever verifying it was true. That can happen. The difference is that I'll admit it when shown evidence that I was incorrect, whereas desertrunner seems to be allergic to doing so.

If you want to give him a hard time for that, go right ahead. If you want to make nasty remarks to him for having done this, go right ahead.

However, once the thread degenerates into just unrelated trolling of him, then it becomes shit because that takes away the entire focus of what was being discussed. And that's what I don't want.

If I do delete your post as part of such trolling, don't make another post in the thread complaining about it. Either accept it, or start a different thread to bring up your issue with why you feel I was too heavy handed.

I'm not doing this to protect desertrunner, by the way. If he posts stupid shit, by all means he should take his lumps for it, as should anyone here when they post dumb things, including me. Just don't fuck up good threads because you want to troll him.
