Born 1887
Died 1972 (aged 84)
Fagan arrived on Broadway in 1907, where he quickly became one of the younger playwrights in American theater. Over the years, he worked in the theater with Alla Nazimova, Douglas Fairbanks, and John Barrymore. He also directed plays for the producers such as Charles Frohman, David Belasco. Fagan also became the dramatic editor of the Associated Newspapers. Many of the actors, including Humphrey Bogart, Brian Donlevy and Robert Ryan, whom Fagan directed or who appeared in his plays or screen adaptions, later became stars in Hollywood.
He moved to Hollywood in 1930, where he served as a writer and director with Pathe Pictures, Inc., then owned by Joseph P. Kennedy, at 20th Century Fox, and other Hollywood film studios.
If there ever was a conspiracy he was in the right place to notice, and notice he did..

I actually know someone with a story pretty much identical to this, even looks remarkably similar to who this girl was - just picture someone slightly shorter and a little more pale, that and a bit of a goth flare and sense of style. Years ago she messaged me on some dating site and was upfront about transitioning. Apparently she had been on testosterone for several months, and it made her extremely attracted to masculine men. She was 21 at the time, trying to finish school, and was honestly highly intelligent. I just don't know what happens to these types. She pretty much just wanted to become a gay man, she wasn't attracted to women at all. So bizarre.
I actually did meet her several times, and she made sure to clarify that she would always be "fem presenting" for me unless I wanted her not to be - there was some kind of weird thing going on where she was using me as a barometer of validation. I had quite a few in depth conversations with this person, and I will confess that it was just out of personal curiosity/to study how someone ends up this way. (It didn't hurt that she was taking something that gave her have an insane sex drive.) She hadn't been on testosterone long enough for there to be any noticeable changes besides maybe losing some natural fat deposits, that and some weird thing going on with her voice.
Anyhow, it does have a happy ending unlike the above freak show, and I like to think I contributed to it. She eventually stopped the nonsense and even ended up having a kid. True story. There are way more young women going through this than some of the older people on here might realize, especially in college towns.
