Brandon Gomes pregame nonsense pretty much confirmed they have no plan and very little input in the Ohtani process. Gomes did say 3 innings at one point (but it’s up to Ohtani)
Q: “will Ohtani have frequent appearances for short duration going forward?”
Gomes: throws hands up in air. “We don’t know”
Gomes just trying to look like an executive in front of the grown ups. Gomes can ask Ohtani thru his interpreter.
Real Dodgerheads are loving this show
F3 BTTS 1+ +135 & F5 BTTS 2+ +155
Oh oh oh…. nearly forgot. Driveline catching some negativity from Dodger org according to sources. Fall guy stuff.
During the broadcast it was confirmed that Sanlmar's theory was correct. Ohtani just dropped on them, "Hey, get me ready to pitch today", and they responded, "Yessa master!"
He went one whopping inning, gave up a run, was somewhat wild, and then Dylan Cease later did Dylan Cease stuff, and the Dodgers went up 6-2.
Dodgers also joining in with the schizophrenic closer situation, now popular in 2025. Some days it's Scott, some days it's Yates, some days it's Vesia, and some days it will probably be Kopech.
The Phillies are trying this now with Strahm/Romano/Kerkering. The Braves are about to do it with Lee/Iglesias. Cubs might even be doing it with Palencia/Pressley/Keller.
Being a good team and having no designated closer is so hot right now.
I am so down on the Tribe offense right now that I look at Robbie Ray and think can they score 2? Doubtful. Like I wouldn’t bet Tribe +1.5 if I knew the Giants were going to score exactly 3, that’s how bad most of our lineup is. They’ll probably score 9 now that I posted this, but they have been truly horrible most nights.
Right now it’s Giants -1.5 +140 and they suck badly at scoring also, but not as badly as we do right now.
Devers taking grounders at 1st for Giants.
Pretty much all ya need to say.

Dodgers still went on to win 8-6, but almost blew a 7-3 lead. Bogaerts, who has become an automatic out, hit into two critical DPs.
If you want a guaranteed free cheese pizza use your DK MLB Boost on Yamamoto over 1.5 walks. It lacks imagination but it allows me to give overrated Yoshi a raspberry too.
Your limit & boost percentage may differ.

This Cal Raleigh is hitting everything right now. One of the better seasons ever by a catcher. Johnny Bench shit. Ignoring Piazza obviously as he was dripping PEDs out of every pore. That one is for you San.
I do wonder if Raleigh is on PEDs. He hit 2 HR in his rookie year of 139 AB. This year he has 29 in 271 AB. It's true that in 2022 he had a semi-heavy power year, bashing 27 in 370 AB, but he only hit .211. This year he's batting .273.
He is 28 now, which is around when players tend to peak.
But let's say I won't be shocked if it's found he's on the roids.

My favorite is the awkward silence for 30 seconds after the gaffe.
I wondered also. Hence the Piazza reference because I started thinking about the best power hitting catchers and it’s a short list and I knew San likes a little Dodgers hate with his baseball.
I don’t know enough about his power progression through minors and early years. Was he supposed to be this? I also don’t know if he’s the type of dude who is hyper competitive and would use them. I see a lot less of Mariners than most teams given the EST and I’m usually watching the Dodgers. But he’s scary as hell right now.
His max EV this year is his lowest since 2021 (it's basically been the same every year). He's always had good power, 29 minor league HRs in 2019 in 507 PAs, 55 raw power scouting report grade. Signed an extension preseason until 2030. Seems about as likely as any player to be taking PEDs.
The Chase Burns era has begun.... and his debut was kinda ok.
He struck out 8 in 5 innings, including 3 in the 1st.
He did give up 3 runs in the 3rd inning, including a home run to Ben Rice.
The increasingly dysfunctional Yankees blew a great Rodon start (6 shutout innings) when the bullpen coughed up the lead, and then they lost in the 11th.
Yankees are just 1 ahead of the pesky Rays and 2.5 ahead of the upstart Blue Jays. It wouldn't surprise me to see this team finish 3rd. They're not likely to miss the postseason, as there isn't as much competition for the 3rd wildcard spot as there is in the NL. There are presently 5 non-1st-place teams in the NL with a .544 record or better.
MLB’s worst nightmare is a long run in the postseason by the Rays. With a max of around 11,000 fans at Steinbrenner Field, gates will suffer. Even with the poor attendance at the Trop, they did fill up in the postseason.
They have been selling out almost every game this season and did increase ticket prices dramatically so the season hasn’t been a financial loss moving to a minor league stadium. One could even argue being in Tampa instead of St Pete is helping.
However it’s still only June and it’s the Rays, they could still be sellers at the trade deadline. They certainly won’t be adding high salaried players. Though a reported sale to a new owner may change things in how they operate.
Still wouldn’t be a good look for MLB to see the World Series being played in a minor league stadium.
It won’t be a good look if the 4 highest payrolls are duking it out either. America loves the underdog and would lose their collective minds if there was a David vs Goliath story staged in a minor league park.
I would anyway.
Baseball is broken and it won’t happen but we can dream
