What do we think about Soriano k props tonight @san?

Went 5.1 against Guardians earlier this year with 9ks. I recall how tough he was as I was sitting with buddy in bar and that was the game the BP blew it and Jose had 3 hrs. 4 of the k’s were against Lane Thomas. He just came back but lineups aren’t out yet and I’d be surprised if he plays. PlusTribe is only 21st in strikeouts. Feels worse as a fan. But he seems to have our number for whatever reason.

    20k in 13 career innings against Tribe. I see o4.5 +120.

I wrestled with sides. I passed. The sine wave of performance that all teams ride finds Angels on downward slope. However they are on the road and still top of the league in that spot on offense.

Soriano occasionally has control issues. His K% is only 17.3%. 21.1% is average.

JRam matches up really well against Soriano.
    4 for 10, 3Xbh, 3 HR vs Soriano
JRam is .400 last 7 days.

Good call. Very sharp, but not k’s.

Another weird extra inning game in Seattle.

Guts Twins score 3 in top of 9th to tie game and then 6 in top of 10th.

Despite Gonsolin giving up 4 early HR, Yankees offense died, and the Dodgers came back to win 8-5.

I couldn't watch this game because of fucking Apple TV+. Seriously. I'm not subscribing to that shit. I hate when the games move to another pay-only platform for occasional (usually high profile) broadcasts.

Judge hit a 1st inning monster HR. Ohtani answered with a first-pitch HR. Ohtani added another later. Dodgers came back from down 5-2.

Yankees lineup is honestly on the thin side. Dodgers were without Mookie Betts, who stubbed his toe (I'm not kidding).

Max Fried was only okay, and ran out of gas.

Ohtani has 22 HR and 60 runs scored, and is a shade under .300. No other player has ever scored 60 R before June 1.

Judge has 19 HR and is hitting .392.

There is some concern that the Pirates are manipulating service time by not calling up Bubba Chandler.

The Pirates have no-namer Mike Burrows in the #5 rotation spot, yet Chandler, who is pitching very well in AAA, isn't being called up.

This is despite the fact that other prospects like Thomas Harrington, Burrows and Braxton Ashcraft got called up already. Some feel that Chandler is another Skenes, and therefore the frugal Pirates want to squeeze another year of service out of the 22-year-old.

Skenes was called up on May 11 last year. Chandler was expected to see a similar callup date, but we are at May 31 and he's not here.

It's possible that the Pirates know they're going nowhere this year, so they'd rather Chandler spend the maximum time in the minors -- at least to the point where they can hold down his service time to their desire. The current excuse is that he needs to work on his control, as he has walked 21 batters in 48 2/3 innings. It's worth noting that he's also struck out a staggering 69 in that same time.

The Pirates don't really have much in the way of top hitting prospects, so it's questionable when they will contend, even if Chandler works out as well as Skenes.

Damn, I debated a few months back whether to do a Seattle trip for this weekends series with M's and twins, but had too much other shit going on around this time. regret it now. First 2 games have been classics, at least for random midseason games.

    Dodgers beat Yankees 18-2 today.

Jesus Luzardo was hit for 12 ER in 3 1/2 innings today against Milwaukee.

Brandon Pfaadt was hit for 8 ER in 0 innings (yes, you read the right) at home against Washington. Only 4th time in MLB history that's happened.

Dodgers, Cubs, Phillies, and Mets all tied for the best NL record.

For the record do you have any thoughts regarding these facts. Do you draw any conclusions about those 4 teams?

I saw Apple but I found ESPN intolerable. It’s important that you know my character.

    Conclusions:

Pfaadt has looked crappy lately after a promising start to 2025, and a 2024 where he was a lot better than his number indicate.

Luzardo has been pitching way over his head, and this may finally be him crashing back to earth.

Dodgers, Cubs, Mets are the best 3 in their divisions, so their leading is not a surprise. Phillies up there too.

Padres and Giants are fading fast, so the Dodgers may have the division locked up sooner than you think.

Dodgers still own the Yankees for whatever reason, even though Judge is finally hitting them again.

    Rockies now 9-50.

No team has ever played 59 games and failed to win at least 10.

Somebody on YouTube needs to do a Pages clown base running video. If it runs over an hour make it a two parter
