Despite 20 games at Coors Field, they have the fewest runs scored in MLB. At 2-17, they are an almost automatic loss on the road. They are on pace to go 25-137.

Today they lost 21-0 at home. That's not a Broncos score, either.
Someone desperately needs to come out with some drama about the owners so the league intervenes. I've made many a post on here about their absentee ownership. My favorite was a few years back when Brdich, their GM, quit (cause no one gets fired there, anymore) early in the season, and the stories of other teams literally not knowing who to call around the trade deadline.

Read recently that between all 4 big sports, every head coach/manager who has been on the job longer than Bud Black has won a title. I mean, on one hand, not like anyone else could do much better with this collection of players.....but cmon. At least the Pirates re-arrange the deck chairs in an empty attempt to keep the fans engaged. Nutting wishes Pittsburgh was Denver.

The Rockies literally exist now for all the Denver transplants. Get a beer, sit in the sun with a great view, watch your team beat the Washington Generals of Denver.

I planned a Colorado trip in 2021 around the Dodgers being in Denver.

I was looking for a place to take the family to a place which wasn't going to be jammed with "post COVID lockdown" summer crowds (which was a real thing back then), and I figured Colorado was a good destination, as it tends not to be the first place on anyone's mind for summer vacation, yet it's very scenic.

I went to the Dodgers series right after the All-Star game (which also took place in Denver). I was shocked to see nearly all Dodgers jerseys among people walking downtown, and then the crowd mostly rooting for the Dodgers at the game itself. Similar vibe to my Oakland visit last August.

I always understood the Dodgers fans' presence at places like Phoenix and San Diego (though both are doing much better at attracting their own fans these days). Colorado is far enough away to where it truly surprised me for it to feel like a Dodgers home game.

But yes, looks like the Rockies are becoming what the Raiders were last season. You visit the stadium when your favorite team is there.

Ohtani is obviously amazing but Freddie Freeman has been the best Dodger so far this year. He is having one hell of a year for 35.

He’s lucky he’s a white guy from America with a good rep because no one would be buying the uptick in power and average at 35 for some dude from the Dominican Republic. There would be questions.

Jackson Merrill is a Freddie Freeman clone - half the age / half the price.

The Cardinals and Twins have won 9 and 8 in a row, respectively.

Laughably this only places the Twins at 21-20, and the Cards at 23-19.

I can't see either of them keeping up these winning ways. Do the Cardinals have any stars on that entire team? Seriously... name one player who is a star or semi-star at this point. No, Nolan Arenado doesn't count in 2025. Brendan Donovan bats third!

I think its a horribly short-sighted move by Sasaki. Sure, it paid off for Shohei, but he is a fucking unicorn. His arm could disintegrate (and it has, twice) and he can just ho-hum be the best DH in baseball. Sasaki doesn't have that backup plan. I would have just waited the 2 more years and then come over and get that Yoshi money.
He’s coming here for Western medicine.

There were many signs last season his arm ain’t right. Lotta dimished metrics. Maybe he wants his bag now before his next surgery. Dodgers will find this irresistible.
It looks likely Roki to IL. Shocker. If not IL they have to send him down.

$200m spent this year on Dodger pitching and they are turning to Kershaw Sunday. It’s that Friedman genius, I guess

Kershaw. The pity and the sorrow. He’s just not fun to target anymore.

Knowing the Dodgers pitching department as I do I have a growing confidence that we saw the best of Ohtani “the two-way phenomenon” in an Angels uniform.

He never got to develop GOAT status in a playoff environment. So close. So sad

If the Dodgers are smart, they won't let him pitch. That's a ticket to the DL. He's doing enough to earn his money with the bat (and the merchandising/ticket sales/TV ratings in two countries). They don't need the pitching gimmick anymore.

    Dodgers pitchers on the DL:

    Tyler Glasnow
    Brusdar Graterol
    Michael Grove
    Edgardo Henriquez
    Kyle Hurt
    Clayton Kershaw
    Michael Kopech
    Evan Phillips
    River Ryan
    Roki Sasaki
    Emmet Sheehan
    Blake Snell
    Gavin Stone
    Blake Treinen

    Oy vey.

Most notably, 3 of their 4 big pitching acquisitions from 2024-25 (Glasnow, Snell, Sasaki) are all on the DL, leaving just Yamamoto as the one active.

All that money spent, and their 2-3-4-5 staters are May/Gonsolin/Knack/Kershaw. Not great.

At my fantasy draft, I grabbed Gonsolin for $1 in the late reserve rounds. One guy complimented the pick. The other laughed and said, "He's like 9th up in the rotation. Congratulations." I replied that Gonsolin would be a regular starter within a month or so. I knew I'd be right.

Doubleheader vs Phillies today, who are hitting in streaks. Harper having worst year of his career so far. Without Schwarber and starting pitchingteam would have a losing record.

Cards will split today at best vs Luzardo and Nola.

That’s a wild thought exercise. However, we both know the Dodgers are not smart.

Dodgers General Manager Brandon Gomes stated publicly in January that Ohtani will not go on a rehab assignment (in minors).

“He can’t just go out on a rehab assignment,” Gomes said. “We would lose our DH.”

Shohei is going to go from BP to facing major league hitters under the scrutiny of the entire planet earth. That is a frightening plan for innumerable reasons. I’d rather he got a chance to experiment vs live batters in the shadows of some remote jerk water like Oklahoma.

Fans of Ohtani and baseball should be very frightened knowing Shohei is in the care of these clowns.

In the context of Ohtani it’s wild to see Red Sox closer Aroldis Chapman hit 104mph after 15 years of max effort.

    Freak human

He really is. I remember watching this a decade ago and wondering how anyone ever gets a hit off him other than pure guessing and pure luck. His stride length and where he releases the ball just make it impossible. 0.03 a second to make a decision. Good luck with that.

I think I read he has spent 11 days in 16 years on IL for arm related issues. He missed more time for a tattoo ink infection. As you said, just an absolute freak.

I saw him in San Diego one time. Hardest thrower I ever saw, but one of the Padres got ahold of one perfectly. Probably the longest home run to center I’ve ever seen there.

Anyone else watching this Devers/Sox soap opera and just LOL'ing.

Damn, Boston, if only you had a great athlete you could have gave an extension to who would move across the diamond for ya.

Also, how do you put a damper on an 11 game win streak? This:

    https://twitter.com/cjzero/status/1923066328367140940

You couldn't make that shit up. At least it was their heads and not....anything else colliding? If their knees hit they'd both be done for the year.

Yeah it’s funny. I don’t know how you can make $300 million and say no. But that’s me. He stunk as a 3rd basemen anyway. I’d be like I think I’ll stink but if you want me to try, why not? It’s not like they are asking him to play catcher.
