Dodgers having the Apple TV curse.

Finally gonna lose a game, despite a strong outing from Yamamoto.

    I guess 162-0 ain't happening.

ok, hold on a second - before I start getting too involved in the baseball season would someone please tell me they don't still start a runner on 2nd in extra innings - I've been away from baseball so long I don't even know if this is still a thing. If it is I may have to re-think my summer plans.

ploppy/homer bet for me today - Red Sox -1.5 +160 and over 9 -118 - no clue who is pitching/injured just that the bats have come around and think it continues today. Its cold and overcast but fine enough weather for baseball.

I'm using the money I won yesterday tailing San's blackhawk fade

Ehh I wouldn’t go that far as the pitch clock and the minimum 3 batters faced rule have drastically sped up the game and that was much needed. Braves-Marlins last night had 10
Runs scored and was over in 2 hours 20 minutes.

Those 4 hour Sox-Yankees games were an abomination.

Yeah Ghost Runner is a permanent thing in regular season now.

I hate only checking a runner at first twice twice then it’s a walk. We used to love just practicing checking runners drills. It’s fun for pitcher and runner. But artificial scoring counts for a lot too.

The pitch clock is prolly responsible to some degree for you watching bum ass pitchers cause EVERYONE is scheduled for surgery. Throw 101 and take two breaths and throw it again.

The 3 batter rule is actually the only good rule change.

    Fake runs stink.

I miss collisions at home and second and the players policing the game in that regard. Game within a game shit. Thank god hockey has let players continue to establish conduct on the ice. The nut low is NBA these days.

It’s just my opinion. Kid viewership is growing and all that. I actually watch very little baseball now. I pop in and out like a zoomer. The product stinks

....and like Verlander said, VELO and spin rates and just teaching kids to throw, not pitch.

OMG it is definitely worse! So you can't plow into the catcher anymore? Starting a runner on 2nd in extras is the worst though. It makes no sense at all to not earn those bases. An actual insult to the purity of the game. The no plowing into the catcher rule is gay but at least you can make some sense of it.

A pitcher can only check a runner back or throw over to 1st twice then its a walk? This has to have had an impact on the number of stolen bases, no?

My bet got rained out. Anyone got anything else they like?

Yes the 3 batter rule is a positive change. It was maddening watching them changing pitchers in the late games every other batter.

Baseball is already a slow moving game. Waiting through countless pitching changes is titlting.

    The ghost runner sucks balls.

The universal DH also sucks, but at least it caught up the NL with the AL. Before that, the NL was a net loser in interleague games, due to not having a proper DH on their roster.

I would really like the Az RL but the weather sucks to the point I could see it be rained out, no biggie, but start and then stop which would be problematic with Corbin pitching.

BPP loves Druffs Dodgers. Price is fair. Just ML, not fucking with RL on cold day.

Race to 10 getting quite interesting.

I am rooting against LAD tomorrow afternoon, who could win a bet i have at effectively like +250, to just root for Giants later, and against padres and rangers.

Sorry gut. I thought of you tonight when I was watching Hunter Greene almost get a CG shutout, and then run out of gas (despite still throwing 100+) with 2 out, nobody on in the 9th. He gave up a hit to Lee, then walked Chapman after getting him 1-2, and it was clear he couldn't throw strikes anymore. Santillan ran the count to 3-1 against a scary Heliot Ramos before Ramos lined out in what looked like a clear base hit, but hung in the air for a bit.

Anyway, that would've been the 9th win for the Giants. Dodgers lost, so you're still alive, but boy would you have been in good shape with 9 wins and the next game at home against the shitty Reds who can't hit.

Hate to say I was rooting against your interest tonight because I had Reds +150.

As I said at the time, the +5500 was a good bet given the schedule and the Giants' ability to be streaky.

Man the Tribe can’t catch a break. MLB has been starting them on the road every year for weather purposes. So after a 9 game road trip what do they get for their home opener? High of 35 today. High of 42 with snow/rain tmrw. High of 44 and rain on Thursday.

Pretty much the entire last two weeks would have been playable.

If they play the Sox today, there isn’t a number low enough for this shit. Neither can hit when it’s 70. Even Lively who gives up homers like candy is probably safe if they play.

Imagine actually going to a home opener against the White Sox with a high of 35 degrees. That’s pretty much rock bottom.

I know you’re saying, “Another Red Sox docuseries? Really?”

Wish Netflix coulda held off for one more year. I guess, they can always make another one too.

I meant imagine in the look at these poor fucks sense.

Anyone over 30 or sober there deserves what they get. I’m far too seasoned(old)to buy April Tribe tickets in advance. I’ll be watching them freeze from comfort.

Wife bought tickets for Red Sox Yankees like the first week of season one year. Right behind home plate. She thought it would be a terrific surprise. It was like 36 degrees day of game. 3 layers of clothes. Hats, gloves.

Fenway still has the urinal troughs. I take my gloves off and put them on the ledge above the urinal. Wash my hands and leave with out my gloves. I get to my seat, realize I do not have gloves (beer is a factor here) and utterly completely panicked. It was second inning or so. There was no way I would survive.

Race back to the men’s room. Not there. I’m going to die like Shackleton on that Antarctic expedition.

I find my gloves tucked inside my coat.

Here is a graph of BOS Crochet’s u17.5 outs. For context he pitched 8 innings last outing. I title this “Sometimes math is idiotic”

I was young and dumb enough to drag a girlfriend to this one. Tribe versus Red Sox doubleheader April 12 1992. Drunk 21 year old. She spent half the day in the girls restroom. No suites or warm bar areas in old Municipal Stadium with 85k seats for our 5k fans.

First game Matt Young throws a no hitter and we win on an error

Next game Clemens throws a 2 hitter.

18 innings of baseball for 2 Cleveland hits in frigid temps.
