Going back to the well wouldn't be nearly as successful but it would probably be solid regardless.
Cruise may be too long in tooth.
That is the liberal line about people wanting to get back to the theater, that is a bunch of bullshit. It worked because Cruise was brilliant in waiting 30 years to do the remake. It was always going to be a $1B movie, in fact it would have been $2B if not for Covid and China getting pissy and refusing to allow it because Trump called Covid the China virus.
The only pent up demand was for Top Gun post Covid, and it was because people waited 30 years to see part 2. It had nothing to do racing back to the theater. I, like most, saw Top Gun 2 in the theater, but it had zero to do about wanting to sit next to a bunch of strangers in a crowded theater and eat cold popcorn. Try not to be so gullible all the fucking time and listening to the media, where did that get you when they predicted Harris would win easily, yeah not so much.
No sorry, most normal people were not racing to the movie theater post Covid. I mean who the fuck would ever say, I just cant wait to get back to a crowded movie theater with people under the poverty line? I went because I wanted to see Top Gun part 2 on a huge screen, I have not been back to a theater since. I just had no pent up demand to sit among a bunch of strangers, some that stink like shit, to watch movies. You obviously travel in different circles. You sound like the guy who could not wait to race back to the local carnival or something post covid. Guys like me were ready to get back to going to Mortons.
