Silly me…just needed to do the Google.

    BTW YUUUUUUP!

They are definitely giving themselves a window to fill empty seats. They probably have like a standby list for a flight like you said. Will fill those seats with those names. Good call!

If you haven’t won a Golden Passport and are currently in Vegas…you certainly want to be on “Pliska’s List”.

Yes, I’m speculating a bit here but why on Earth would they need everyone to register in person the day before unless they wanted to know where they stood on the amount of no shows.

My thoughts exactly about knowing where they stand on empty seats. Start running low level high hands, hot seats, or something like that in the live games to fill the seats.

100%. This doesn’t allow people with jobs to take the redeye or a super early flight and arrive early Friday. They def want to fill them seats. Can def see hot seats Friday morning in the cash games. Kind of like Price is Right.

“Table 10 Seat 6 Come on down….to the registration desk, you are the next contestant in the 5 M WPT Gold Freeroll!”

We shall see. I hope I’m wrong and they don’t fill the seats and give you guys a better chance at cashing.

But if they do fill a lot of seats and claim they didn’t have a shadow list or gave away seats to “insiders” I call bullshit. There is going to be so many people who sign up that simply don’t have the means to get there. I would also be surprised if the usual collection of cool kids we see on Twitter are not in the field.

Think you will see a lot of those people who were lucky enough to “win”. Of course Druff is excluded from this comment as I’m sure he won fair and square. Plus he deserves the seat a lot more than a lot of these barnacles…let’s be honest. Unlike 99.9% of them Druff has given to the community a whole lot more than he has received in return.

There will be no redraws for seats. If only 1,500 people show up, then only 1,500 people will play. Better value!

About 60 "influencers" were given seats in exchange for running promotions and driving signups. Another 50 or so pros won by random chance.

The other 1,900 people are amateurs. We sent out a survey to these players, and 80% of them have never bought in for more than $500. Tons of them have never played live poker before.

This will be the softest $5m tournament of all time.

I see a fair number of regs on this list: https://clubwptgold.zohodesk.com/por.../articles/gold

Fortunately I'm one of em (won a freeroll satty).

Wonder how tough it would be to get an AI to spit out a spreadsheet matching this list up to hendon results.

I’m in this. I won through a different influencer, not through Srsly.

Some of you saw my name already on the list.

Any PFAer in it, text me your table/seat # at 775-372-8355 and I’ll come over and say hello.

GL to everyone here who got a seat

Flopped bottom end of straight with flush redraw, other guy flopped high end. Im out. Ivey was next table over, his seat didn't even get warm before he was out. GL. Blinds will move fast in a few levels so chip up quick.

Sorry man. Ivey is the worst ambassador as far as work rate in the history of poker. Maybe tied with Blizerian at GG. Guy barely sat in his seat during their live cash game a few days ago. I guess WPT feels his name is valuable enough on its own. But if they had balls they would tell the guy to give a little bit more than the absolute minimum effort possible. He’s getting paid FFS.

    No, no, no.

    I respectfully disagree.

Ivey was also playing in one of the smaller buy in WPT tournaments as well.

He’s travelled to various WPT venues the last few years playing even in smallish tournaments such as a $1100 event in Mexico City earlier this summer. He was also in Oklahoma and in Cali playing $1100-$10,000 range buy in tourneys. And you know that’s gotta be whatever for a guy who constantly has played 500k-1milly triton tourneys and high rollers. I doubt even a lol 10k tourney even slightly moves the needle with him.

There’s also some video on WPT’s website and Brad Owen’s blogs of him interacting with players, laughing, basically showing more personality than he had shown since he became a household name.

I think the WPT is happy with the relationship.

SS was pretty on the mark with he seats. He would of lost on Price is Right by going over, but still close af.

They did give some seats away at the site but obviously left over 25% of the field empty. Some didn’t go for other reasons I’m sure. But to the few hundred who didn’t get to go because they couldn’t afford it…that’s a shit feeling. Sorry.

My man with no toe. I got to disagree with you man. Now, Negreanu is the ambassador standard and comparing him to anyone is unfair. Most ambassadors nowadays are vloggers & streamers and they can use metric of signups and eventually depositing to track how much coin they bring in to a certain extent.

But Ivey in my eyes has shown he is too cool for school. This year he was clearly pissed he had to fly back from the 500K Triton in the Bahamas where all the whales were, to play in the streamed cash game with a bunch of Gen Z fucks. He clearly felt that game was beneath him and made that very clear by taking more walks than one of those young hot moms that want to show off how well their body bounced back after pregnancy by pushing the stroller 7 times a day.
