This is an overreaction the other way now. HeÂ’s never been for a single day anywhere near as popular in his own state as Desantis and Ohio is 3x as red as Florida at this point.
He does well with educated suburban guys. I knew heÂ’d do well in an academic debate against Walz, but heÂ’s a guy the more you see the less you like. He comes off as the last guy youÂ’d like to have a beer with to the rural voter that defines the GOP.
So unless you envision some world where the old chamber of commerce GOP is a big enough tent to win, he will struggle.
