IUI involves the direct insertion of sperm into the uterus, to increase chance of pregnancy. It is not at all controversial like IVF, as no embryos are created outside the womb. It's just an alternate way to lead to pregnancy, which doesn't involve sex.

Closeted gay men like using things like IUI to have kids, because they don't have sex with their wives much, and do not want to engage in regular sex in order to produce children. By using IUI, these men can have kids while keeping to their routine of barely fucking their wife, usually with various excuses about being "tired", "in pain", etc.

IUI is much easier than IVF, and tends to be used when the problem isn't on the woman's end, regarding fertility.

Not a surprise at all that Walz was one of those IUI guys. I've known some women over the years who were married to (or in a long term relationship with) closeted gay men, and it was always the same story. The guy would never initiate sex, he always had excuses why he didn't want to, and there was very little passion when sex would happen. Usually these women would blame themselves and think they just weren't attractive enough, which was very sad to hear.

I seriously think Walz is in the closet.
