There are far left protesters who think that the Biden Administration is too pro-Israel. It's not true that they're pro-Israel, but they're just not pro-Hamas enough for these people's liking.
A lot of today's Democratic voters hate Jews, hate Israel, and support Hamas. There was the fear that lots Democratic voters would stay home if Shapiro were the VP candidate, so they didn't pick him. They actually gave up a sure Pennsylvania win due to that fear.
Shapiro would have clearly been the better choice, but I don't think it's fair to say he would have automatically locked up Pennsylvania. Trump had a significantly higher turnout for the 2020 vote than he did for his 2022 election, 12.5% more. Shapiro's approval rating has at best hovered around 50%. Obviously presidential elections are different, but Shapiro hasn't been a particularly popular governor. It's not uncommon for governors to have approval ratings above even 60%.
It always should have been Rubio. Whatever you think of him, he looked like his career in elected offfice was toast and he has really gotten things back on track. Polished and vetted. Trump has blown this in just about every way possible. But the cocky vanity pick of Vance is at the top of the list.
There are few politicians I like less than Marco. I'd put a Kamala sign up and have bikers shooting through my windows before casting a vote with his name attached to anything.
If there is one constant with Trump, you can disparage him and call him pretty much anything, and if you eventually want to work with him, he will forget about it. But if he cucked you on national TV like he did Marco and Ted Cruz, you are relegated to being some cheerleader bootlicker forever in his mind. He idolizes dictators because dictators are strong men. You aren't getting on his ticket if he did the Little Marco routine on you and you eventually kissed his ass.
A Nikki Haley had a better shot and would have been a better choice. She took her shots at him, but he can respect that at the end of the day. He hates what he perceives as weakness and there is no way you can mentally wrap your head around burying a guy like he did to little Marco and then respect the guy.
I mean JD is doubling down on his previous dumb comments because he fundamentally understands Trump.
I get your argument is it would make the ticket more palatable, but I disagree with even that. How am I going to take some foreign policy hawk seriously telling me how to deal with the various boogeymen around the world when a guy openly mocked him relentlessly and he eventually bent the knee? No way.
Plus he's viewed as a war monger. Even if you dislike Trump, the one thing you have to give him credit for is not getting us into foreign bullshit. Marco would detract from that.
Trump's whole foreign policy is I am fucking crazy and get along with all these bad guys because they know I am crazy and therefore hesitant to fuck with us. And there is some truth to that. No one is afraid of Marco and Trump is 78 and obese.
I was simply making the point that Rubio hawkish reputation is very clear.
Did Binden have a reputation for foreign policy “prowess”. I was so preoccupied with Clinton, Bush, Hillary and Obama. He logged his 10,000 hours.
All I knew was he got whipped around by Cheney’s GWOT. It’s pretty serious shit to be wrong about. Biden didn’t appear to have a clue what the insiders motives were. You don’t get a mulligan on an issue that monumental. So I tagged him a foreign policy loser although I recognize he tried hard to make amends and fight Hillary, Obama and all the rest of the neocons. He didn’t have the chops.
Rubio is no bueno.
I was never the GWOT guy like Druff but WTF with Trump’s attitude toward those patriotic kids who paid the price for our stupidity.
Certainly you’ve seen this. Trump’s noodle appears to be fried. You would swear the video below was AI it’s so fucking offensive and dumb.
If I were ex military I’d swear an oath on him.
Henlein is a made Republican guy too apparantly

Adelson’s widow is quite the hero.
His pinned tweet made me laugh. They cater to that crowd because that’s the majority of the GOP now. Traditional conservatives don’t know who their party is anymore. I hear this shit all day every day. It’s not Reagan’s party. It’s Alex Jones party. The top 3 would poll over 50% among die hard MAGA.

The man responsible for recruiting, grooming and installing JD Vance as the VP candidate was just interviewed on Joe Rogans podcast.
Dear mother of god it’s over 3 hours.
Rogan: Is Palantir a front for the CIA?
Peter Thiel: No, the CIA is a front for Palantir
Between Peter Thiel and Curtis Yarvin I’m not getting any sunshine or sleep
Too weird to miss

I’m sure they talked about more than golfBy the time they hung up the phone, Trump Jr. had said he wanted to help.
But Vance’s first meeting with Trump was actually arranged by billionaire venture capitalist and Republican mega-donor Peter Thiel. Thiel was a mentor to Vance….
Thiel holds a lot of sway with Altman, Musk (Thiel saved SpaceX with cash infusion) and the other elite venture tech pals in San Francisco (All In Podcast bros for instance) …. you know, the poor white populist crew
PETER THIEL IS TAKING A BREAK FROM DEMOCRACY The Atlantic Nov 9, 2023When I asked what he thinks of Yarvin’s autocratic agenda, Thiel offered objections that sounded not so much principled as practical.
“I don’t think it’s going to work. I think it will look like Xi in China or Putin in Russia,” Thiel said, meaning a malign dictatorship. “It ultimately I don’t think will even be accelerationist on the science and technology side, to say nothing of what it will do for individual rights, civil liberties, things of that sort.”
Still, Thiel considers Yarvin an “interesting and powerful” historian. “One of the big things that he always talks about is the New Deal and FDR in the 1930s and 1940s,” Thiel said. “And the heterodox take is that it was sort of a light form of fascism in the United States.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt, in this reading of history, used a domineering view of executive authority, a compliant Congress, and an intimidated Supreme Court to force what Thiel called “very, very drastic change in the nature of our society.” Yarvin, Thiel said, argues that “you should embrace this sort of light form of fascism, and we should have a president who’s like FDR again.”
It would be hard to find an academic historian to endorse the view that fascism, light or otherwise, accounted for Roosevelt’s presidential power. But I was interested in something else: Did Thiel agree with Yarvin’s vision of fascism as a desirable governing model? Again, he dodged the question.
“That’s not a realistic political program,” he said, refusing to be drawn any further.
It's hard for critically thinking people not to at least consider something of that nature as a solution to quickly correct the current sinking ship. Historically much more meaningful swift change has been accomplished by centralized power or movements in the hands of a benevolent few - I think this what they are touching on, but obviously then there's opposite end of the spectrum which quickly puts those thoughts to bed.
