For the record, my post in this thread is completely ignoring whatever accusations. Maybe .01% chance at best it's truthful, but outside of this he's still an awful hire who only got the job because he's friends with LeBron, his podcast co-host. Team has been hijacked by him and Rich Paul.

If I knew that it could have led to a Lakers head coach job, I would have tried harder with my podcasting and attempted to partner up with Lebron.

J Redick is facing allegations from a Black woman who said the head coach called her the N-word during his college career at Duke in the early 2000s. The accusation came from entrepreneur Halleemah Nash in a recent post on X.
In the post, Nash writes, “I’ve only been called the N-word to my face by a white man once in my life, and it was on the campus of Duke University while I was doing work with the basketball team. And today, he was named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. What a world.” According to her LinkedIn page, Nash coordinated an initiative called the “Blue Devil Inner City Youth Project” with Duke’s basketball team from August 2003 to August 2004.

Redick was announced as the Lakers’ coach earlier this week and has faced criticism for this allegation and his lack of coaching experience, as reported by the Daily Mail. In response to the allegations, a spokesperson for Redick denied the claims and said, “No, it never happened.”

OK who wanted the job didnt get it and put this bitch up to this fake ass claim. I mean its not like we havent seen false claims come out from a black woman before about some white athlete(s) at Duke.

Druff and any other Lakers fans, how do you feel about this hire? I know LeBron and co. won the asterisk championship, but nothing justifies Jeanie Buss allowing this. At what point do the other five siblings who own an equal share of the Lakers trust step in? Is there something in the trust that says they can't? She went from fucking one of the coaches to now hiring a player's podcast co-host. Let's not forget that she fired her own brother.

Worst of all is what she did to Jerry West after her father died, it's literally disgraceful. He was absolutely right in his criticisms of this cunt.

The botching of the Hurley courtship and subsequent hire of JJ is evidence to me that the Buss family should sell the team and move on.

The Jerry West thing is still personal for Jeannie since it was really the beef with Phil that caused the rift. The way the Buss family treated him was pretty despicable.

As far as I know about the trust, she runs the show and the other siblings are pretty content with their roles in operations. One of them runs the G League team and they cast Jimmy aside to do his own thing. Basically paid him to go away.

I've probably told this story before, but in a very surreal LA moment, some years ago I was at a dog park in Playa Vista with Norm Macdonald. I was wearing a Lakers hat and Norm starts chatting me up.

Norm: So, uhh, you like the Lakers, huh?
Me: Yeah been a Lakers fan since I was a kid going to games at the Forum
Norm: Jimmy Buss is my neighbor
Me: Oh yeah that's cool I didn't know he lived here

I dont know if the Hurley thing was botched or not. 2 possibliites as to why it happened. 1. Hurley knew deep down it was a major dumpster fire in LA and the thought of dealing with LeBron and then probably demanding playing time for his cardiac kid who never would've been drafted based on his one and done season at USC was a bad situation. 2. Hurley consulted with guys who had done the NCAA to NBA thing and told him to stay the hell away from it due to the egos and crap involved that you dont have in college.
