I completely forgot this was going to happen!

I managed to tune in for the last 2 hours as I went to tune in for my usual weekly fix of PFR radio. WOuld have loved to have heard those interviews (and the entire 50 hours for that matter) - will this be getting the archive treatment for later download?

    also…

it’s staggering just how many former posters have ‘moved on to other things’ never to be heard from again

I mean the list of former contributors who vanished off the face of the Earth is fucking mind blowing

only a handful of stragglers remain

I’m sure it’s got nothing at all to do with (ahem)

    never mind

Every single forum in existence has lost a ton of posters since the late 2000s. That is, if the forums still exist at all.

The fact that this place still runs, with regular postings every single day, is a testament to how the community has largely stayed together despite the changing world and poker landscape around us. This forum has suffered far less active user attrition than almost every other forum out there 10-15 years ago.

Funny how the 22Q people ended up being at least semi-dirty. Here all this money and attention literally fell into their lap, and when asked to cooperate with our investigation against Jasep (who stole from them, too), they shooed us away. Ingrates.

Two people on the above list have unfortunately passed away -- AsianSpa and Dusty Schmidt. I liked both of them and had segments on PFA Radio about both of their passings. (They also both appeared on radio at some point.) Both were in their 40s when they died. Very sad.

Victor Ramdin is a nice guy, and I see him around during WSOP. We've swapped small percentages when both deep in events, as recently as 2022.

Matt Savage and Jonathan Little did not listen to PFA Radio at all back when the 22Q podcast took place. However, both have since found the show, and now both listen every week.

I had forgotten that Richard Roeper was on. Also surprised Gavin Griffin came on, given that his penis was posted on NWP. Maybe he didn't realize the NWP connection to Jasep's site.

not sure how you can say that with a straight face but whatever

if ‘forums are dead’ as you say

I guess if you keep saying that it must be true though

like you said, it’s your site Todd

    Yes, Martin, forums are dead.

They've been replaced by Reddit and social media.

Even when forums were highly active, there was always some turnover where people would leave for whatever reason.

Given that this group was never a huge subset of the poker community, it's actually impressive it's still together as much as it is.
