I did some thinking on this. It really wasn't the GOP itself that caused this to occur. The fact is almost all the GOP members voted against tossing McCarthy. This was more a case of 8 alt righters getting pissed off because McCarthy wouldn't do what they wanted which was a bit insane to begin with. The Democrats of course went gleefully going along for the ride, handing them the gas to pour on the fire to torch McCarthy. I agree we need to do something about the out-of-control spending as I'm sick of paying 2X for gas what I paid before, and which has driven up prices on everything. That being said idiots like pedo Gaetz think they can just ram things through forgetting who has control of the Senate and WH. There is going to have to be some compromise whether those jackasses like it or not.

Correction the GOP has a razor thin majority. All it took was a handful of guys like Gaetz to light the fuse on the dynamite. The Dems knew what they were doing. The voted en masse of course to assist in the GOP House suicide. Gaetz may have pulled the trigger but Hakeem Jeffries and the Dems handed him the loaded gun to do so.
