The thing that gets me is when i see electoral maps that are solid red but have like 3 counties that are blue and the whole state is controlled by just those counties by population size. I like the Nebraska model of splitting the electorate up better.

Romney is ahead right now by a couple million but that number will change.

If Romney wins the popular vote will Congress finally agree to get rid of the electoral college for good?

Getting rid of the EC would require 2/3 of both houses of Congress plus 38 states to ratify a Constitutional amendment. No way all those small states will agree to give up their influence, especially the smaller swing states. It won't happen.

The closest we could get is the agreement already in place among some states to award their EVs to the national popular vote winner. But the agreement doesn't take effect until states with enough EVs to elect the president sign on, and so far they haven't. And won't.

Whoever is upset about Obama winning, really just needs to get over it. He is now your President for the next 4 years. This country is in serious trouble. At this point, uniting behind him is a far superior move than fighting against him. It really is time we started thinking of ourselves as Americans again, and not Republicans and Democrats. Now that Obama has won, take your sights off of him and focus them on Russia, China, and collective threats from around the world. It sounds really fucking gay, but at the end of the day, we're all Americans. Lets get our foreign affairs in order and regain our economic superiority back before we start throwing shit at each other like Apes again.

Going to give Romney credit. What was a huge Obama landslide turned into a competitive race. That first debate was something that was Reaganesque. Tough to beat an incumbent, even John Kerry figured that out. Guy did the best he could.

Obama recently signed an executive order effectively killing the work rule which is the guts of Clinton's welfare reform law, that was wildly successful, if a state chooses to loosen the work rule, dumbass. It was supposed to be an air tight law, now that obama has been reelected the e.o. will end up in the courts

minority vote killed romney. the exit polls i've looked at show only 35% of white men voted for obama and only 44% white women. 96% black women voted for obama, 87% black men, and so on. the minorities ran this election.
