Pat Sajak explained, "You know, this one's tough, because you said all the right words, including the word 'word' but, as you know, it's gotta be more or less continuous. We'll allow for a little pause but not four or five seconds. I'm sorry. You did a good job in getting it, but we can't give you the prize, and it was the Audi."

I didn't even know this was a rule. Why does it matter how much you pause in between words, if you say them in the right order?

This really is a bunch of crap.

It's also interesting that Audi is "reviewing this situation internally". This might mean that Wheel of Fortune doesn't actually award the prizes, but instead might have a marketing partnership, where the provider of the prize gets free advertising/publicity in return. So perhaps these strict rules are in place in order to reduce the number of prizes expected to be awarded by these partners.

I dont watch this show regularly, however he states "you have 10 seconds to talk it out" and multiple attempts are allowed.

Definitely seems she was robbed given she gave the correct answer in the alloted time.

As for the other part, given its close to Xmas, I'd be pretty sure Audi will give her the car and some shit like "You are a winner in our eyes, and in the eyes of everyone seeing you driving this new Audi".

I love Wheel of Fortune. I was surprised but it is in the terms of service. (lol) That was really a tough beat since she started it and got it. You can start even if you don't get it as longs as you beat the buzzer. She got ripped. Pat looks like he is wearing a wig. Hopefully Audi will give her the car, would be good promotional deal.

Audi probably has to be careful in how they handle it, as overruling Wheel of Fortune can make the show look bad, and might even violate some sort of agreement they have.

I have to assume that if they relent, it will be a joint statement where both the show and Audi have agreed to make an exception and award the car, because it was so close within the rules.

The only deal these prize providers have is they give the prize to the game show usually only in consideration of the free advertising they get on the show.. Audi can give that woman a car if they wish and I dont think theres much WOF can do about it.. Its standard that the prizes are provided for free or minimal consideration to the game shows in return for exposure on National TV
