That knife was easily an inch deep in his throat before they cut away. TBH, that was the part that bothered me the most. Looked extremely painful to the point where he started to stand up to try and ease it. Asshole did the sawing method with a small knife. Fucking brutal.
Also, that video was recorded very recently according to everything I've seen and heard. They made references to recent events, and Sotloff's hair and facial hair was in line with the amount that would have grown in the time since the first video.
The cut away scene now is definitely a tactic of sorts. Not sure what exactly... Maybe it's a way to look more professional for recruitment purposes, maybe it's a way to get more people to watch the video knowing they won't actually see someone get their head sawed off... Who the Hell knows... All I know is it's fucking awful no matter how you slice it.
They already had an expert on tv say that the beheading was fake. The only used the guy in the video because he spoke english, but he wasnt the actual beheader.
I know they're lying to these guys and telling them to read this bullshit and we wont kill you, but theres no way Id read that shit. No fucking way. If your man enough to go over there knowing the risks involved then be man enough to go out like a man.
