That's why these guys are cooperating reading the messages. They were probably told to record this crap but that they wouldn't actually be beheaded if the US changed course. So they go through the motions, read the statement, and you see the knife being taken to their throats, but don't ever see anything really being cut.

Then they probably behead the guy off-camera with a big axe or something, and then place the dead body on camera.

There is no reason why these terrorists are cutting out the gore of these guys' throats being cut, as that would actually make the most impact (including their screams as it's starting to happen).

It is even possible that these messages were all recorded in a short period of time before anyone had actually died.

That knife was easily an inch deep in his throat before they cut away. TBH, that was the part that bothered me the most. Looked extremely painful to the point where he started to stand up to try and ease it. Asshole did the sawing method with a small knife. Fucking brutal.

Also, that video was recorded very recently according to everything I've seen and heard. They made references to recent events, and Sotloff's hair and facial hair was in line with the amount that would have grown in the time since the first video.

The cut away scene now is definitely a tactic of sorts. Not sure what exactly... Maybe it's a way to look more professional for recruitment purposes, maybe it's a way to get more people to watch the video knowing they won't actually see someone get their head sawed off... Who the Hell knows... All I know is it's fucking awful no matter how you slice it.

It achieves it's goal. You see him getting murdered, which most people will turn away from after a few seconds anyway, so this way they pretty much force you to see the end result, which is exactly what they want. With this method not only do you get the brutality of seeing him murdered, but the gruesome end result as well. This cut away shit is extremely thought out.

On the flip side, obviously these guys realize this will achieve nothing as far as the US dropping bombs on their asses. They simply just want to murder people...

CNN reports they are making 1.2 million a day from seized Iraq oil fields and 2 million a day from Syrian fields.

A lot of people throw out nuking a country or people as a sort of joke. I actually believe we may need to nuke the fuck out of them. If we do our standard solution of firing missiles over there from planes or drones it is simply going to piss them off and create more martyrs and more terror attacks. They already had an expert on tv say that the beheading was fake. The only used the guy in the video because he spoke english, but he wasnt the actual beheader.

I know they're lying to these guys and telling them to read this bullshit and we wont kill you, but theres no way Id read that shit. No fucking way. If your man enough to go over there knowing the risks involved then be man enough to go out like a man.
