I am still on the fence about paying vegas. Yeah, he did crumple that napkin just right. On that premise alone I ought to pay. What happened after isn't so cut and dry. Firstly I pm'd him the very night he made the video and told him he got me good and what was his address so I could send funds. Druff can verify I did this I'm sure. he never responded and at the 10 day mark I asked him again and no response so I dropped it. Then a couple months go by and suddenly azzclown has a bug up his ass about the whole thing and vegas ignores the banter until I say something in some thread on dd I forget what and it pissed him off so he figured he'd come collecting I guess. He admitted in the thread I'm thinking of that he never expected me to pay and that showing me up for running my mouth was the payment he was looking for and got, hence why he didn't give a shit. Well low and behold I annoyed him enough he thought it would be fun to hound me for the stupid fucking napkin video. Swell guy. Long story short, I am under this pressure that feels strangely like extortion. You know, pay up to receive preferential treatment (no trolling) etc. In my eyes vegas came out satisfied hence why he didn't respond to my pm's at the outset. That he arbitrarily changed his mind when the mood suited him I could give a fuck less about. Adding to the mess is the fact that paying him is a zero sum proposition-my personal life gains nothing, my online life also gains nothing (same trolls will troll me they will just find some new catchy reason and run with it.) and since I literally gain nothing plus vegas isn't losing anything (unless that was a $50 napkin he had at his kitchen table, and crumpling it has rendered it damaged and unable to clean your hands or something) and on top of ALL of that is the fact that VEGAS KNOWS ALL OF THIS AND HE IS STILL PRESSURING ME TO PAY. You know that sounds like a lot of bullshit Mark, I do not negotiate with terrorists nor do I give in to the demands of terrorists so when I hear "pay the man the money you don't really owe or we will keep ruining your experience online forever" it sounds an awful lot like exaction to me (blurry line between extortion and exaction but I think exaction is appropriate) and you know, it's real low class for vegas to hound me as long as he has about something so stupid and he's watched me suffer for MONTHS here, any decent person would have called the thing off long ago. I am aware of another problem and I would never pay unless someone could prove me wrong- NONE of the trolls hounding me would hound him in the same situation. Think about it- if I crumpled the napkin and let's say vegas and i disputed the amount owed and 6 months later i hadn't been paid, YOU KNOW not a single one of these bottom feeders would hound him to anything resembling the severity they have trolled me. So what does that tell you? Obviously whether or not funds are still owed is totally subjective to the parties involved and as vegas himself admitted he never expected me to pay he just wanted to shut me up (and he did so) I declare the matter moot. I am not going to pay unless the money is rightfully owed firstly and secondly I refuse to be seen as a weak individual who will cave to external pressure. I appreciate that you spoke up for me but I've made my decision. Mike
