Says the guy who has an avatar of the trailer he lives in. I completely forgot about you ShadyJ. Figured you were gone after you embarrassed yourself with your counterfeit coupons and "Elite Plus" Best Buy status. Then out of no where you show up talking about meeting me and fighting me lol.
1) Apparently not being directly outed by this community matters to Jasep, as he very quickly responded to the threat of being outed, and is complying with making payments, while asking that he not be outed.
2) Experienced scammers expect to eventually be outed, so there isn't as much concern about what happens a few years down the line, but what happens in the near future. The trick is to run the game as long as possible to milk the current marks, and make a safe getaway on their own or with assistance of new marks (such as Peter Falcone seems to have done).
Its worth noting that Jasep came to terms with his gambling addiction recently and doing what one can to make amends to the victims of his conduct is part of that process.
"Birds born in a cage think flying is an illness." - Alejandro Jodorowsky
"America is not so much a nightmare as a non-dream. The American non-dream is precisely a move to wipe the dream out of existence. The dream is a spontaneous happening and therefore dangerous to a control system set up by the non-dreamers." -- William S. Burroughs
First off, I don't want to see anyone physically threatening each other here. That has been against the rules on PFA since day 1.
Regarding Jasep, I don't believe that he is voluntarily making amends due to guilt or wanting to do the right thing.
However, he does seem to have a stable life going right now, and that part is important to him. So it's pretty clear that he will keep paying PFA regularly for as long as his life remains intact and doesn't want things disrupted.
If we get all of the money back, when all is said and done, then at least we have erased the financial impact of the whole mess. We're a long way from getting to that point, but at least I've received about 10% of the money back so far, and it will make me feel good to see the victims made whole (or at least partially whole).
I assume Jasep is participating in a 12 step forum for Gambling Addiction. One of the key components of the Steps, probably the most critical, is making amends to those you affected. There is no guarantee he came here willingly or not but it does not matter as long as he pays everyone back.
The guy is broke but is making steps to pay everyone back, probably working extra shifts. Lots of Wall Street scammers serving 20 years who did not. At least this guy is paying back. Not defending the guy, but if you lend a stranger money on the Internet and he scams you tough shit. You are at least getting paid back with this guy. Plenty of cash gifting cabbies out there that do not pay back.
noi one dime would have been invested if not for drexal.china also knew he could not do rhis. he had no other money.drexal guilpy on all counts. jasap guilty of haveing a dream
Del, I think you are being too harsh. It seems to me that Drexel and Chinamaniac really liked and trusted Jasep. And it is always super hard for those close to a scammer to see through the charade because of the emotional closeness. And such an outrageous betrayal by someone they thought was a good friend most likely was really hard to get one's head around. Soliciting fans for cash game staking isn't necessarily a con, but it is fraught with risk for the investors.
And being broke doesn't mean the solicitor is necessarily running a con. I'm guessing that Drexel and China thought, "Well, he's already raised the money. What can we do except hope he is being honest even if such staking is super risky for the backers. What other option do we have at that point?" And at that time, no-one was aware that Jasep had stolen the charity money. So, while it probably was upsetting to hear that Jasep had done this without their approval beforehand, it was probably their reaction that Jasep was being foolish/optimist versus intentionally cheating.
Also, I don't believe Jasep is guilty of "haveing a dream." While cash game staking is unusual, something that seemed wildly odd about Jasep's planned start date for playing was AFTER the week between Christmas and New Years. My experience with cash games in the Northeast is that they are packed with fish from Dec 26 to New Years Eve, while relatively dead the week before Christmas and on Christmas Day, and immediately after New Years when juicy working stiffs go back to the routine of their weekday office jobs. So reading this after the fact, it seemed odd that Jasep would plan to start playing for his investors after that typically mad action during the last week of the year.
Well, I realize this is way after the fact, but I really think that both Drexel and China were completely blindsided by Jasep's deception. And that reaction is corroborated by how much effort Drexel put into trying to get the RI police to move on Jasep in the months after it came out.
Seriously, Del, if you aren't joking, consider giving D and C a break on this matter. Because it seems like this was the first time either of them had something like this blown up so close in their faces. If they fail to pull the fire alarm the next time something like this occurs, feel free to release the kraken. But I beg the court to give these first-timers probation with time-in-anguish served on this matter.
Yo Jesap:
Keep em coming baby.
Any payment this last week? The 24th payment was 2 days late, so the next payment is August 5th.
Druff still no payments?
He paid again on August 7. Slowly we are accumulating some money BACK.
Still a long way to go.
