season 1 is already made, it no longer need be concerned with establishing its rep. the last 10 minutes or so of last nights episode suggest this show has the potential to be better than breaking bad.

Id love to be proven wrong but I can't see BCS ever being as good as BrBa in seasons 3/4. That doesn't mean I think BCS can't be a very good show.
It is posible we could have a blowup next week. If they don't nail the Mike Ehrmanttaut backstory it will fuck the whole universe going forward. Keep in mind this is the writing team that put Walt in NH with a machine gun at the start of 5a with absolutely no idea how the fuck he was going to get there.
Now.... Jonathan Banks is a Made nigga and a half so I'm fairly optimistic even if the script is shit he will make it decent. Like I said, im optimistic.

I think the show was signed for 23 episodes pretty early in the game. So we plod through 6 or 7 episodes of character development and experimentation mixing a little comedy into the drama.Agree with this. Slow build. Introducing characters and the whole structure.
This is a binge-watching show if ever there was one.

Does Vince Gilligan give a shit at this point? He's the artist building a long arc. Looking back this will not matter a lick. He will not be pressured. Later folks are gonna binge watch this on Netflix and in marathons over and over. Then his genius will be recognized.
What percentage of money is at risk with these early episodes? BCS writers and producers probably feel zero pressure here.
Just binged the latest season of Justified. Fantastic. The loquacious dialogue comin out of these rednecks is so good that the storyline is just a bonus.

i wasn't sure how to take this show when it was announced, i mean don't get me wrong.... i was feeling tingly and warm inside but this show has exceeded my expectations to this point.
