Guatemalan Police Arrest Software Guru McAfee
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2012...=aponline&_r=0
GUATEMALA CITY (AP) — Software company founder John McAfee was arrested by police in Guatemala on Wednesday for entering the country illegally, hours after he said he would seek asylum in the Central American country.
The anti-virus guru was detained at a hotel in an upscale Guatemala City neighborhood with the help of Interpol agents and taken to an old, three-story building used to house migrants who enter the country illegally, said Interior Minister Mauricio Lopez Bonilla.
He was busted by Interpol after his location was exposed on the internet.
Wouldn't be surprised if he greases his way out of it, the only thing he should really be concerned with is how much greasing the belizeans will risk to get him deported back.
If they just simply wanted him out or dead then I think he's fine
Belize said he's not facing charges right now, but I can easily see that changing.
Gotta think the dude is guilty, given the circumstances.
LOL @ chunking off 96% of his $100 million fortune through bad investments.
It's amazing how terrible many really rich people are with choosing investments. Makes me wonder how some of them got that rich in the first place -- that it probably really was dumb luck more than skill.
Mr McAfee, 67, who faces deportation to Belize for questioning over the death of his neighbour there, was brought out of an immigration service detention centre on a stretcher.
Photographs showed him lying in the back of an ambulance wearing a suit, with his eyes closed, his head in a brace and his body wrapped in a blanket.
Early reports suggested he was had suffered two mild heart attacks, but his lawyer Telesforo Guerra said he had been suffering from stress and hypertension.
"He never had a heart attack. Nothing like that," Mr Guerra said in Guatemala City. "I'm not a doctor. I'm just telling you what the doctors told me. He was suffering from stress, hypertension and tachycardia (an abnormally rapid hearbeat)."
He was released from hospital several hours later.

he looks dead in that pic and if those symptoms are true he's prolly jonesin'
I'm sure he's under stress but this definitely seems more like a PR stunt his lawyer and himself came up with to help him avoid deportation

Saw an interview w/ Kim Coates and he said they had to adjust Tigs character because he won't just play a complete psycho... So I'm really not sure if he's on board with the McAfee biopic.
I just think he kind of looks like him, those eyes vs. the old leathery skin.
He is in the US now,
so I guess he didn't kill anyone?
No authorities seem to care.
The story keeps getting pushed further and further back in the news.

Software anti-virus pioneer John McAfee was deported from Guatemala on Wednesday afternoon and arrived in Miami hours later.
McAfee, who is wanted in Belize for questioning about the murder of an American neighbor, arrived on an American Airlines flight shortly before 7 p.m. ET, the Associated Press reported. He left Guatemala about 3:40 p.m.
Miami International Airport spokesman Greg Chin said that federal authorities would escort the 67-year-old McAfee after he cleared customs, AP said. There was no immediate word on where he would be taken or was headed.
He traveled without his 20-year-old girlfriend, Samantha Vanega, who fled Belize with him."
