gunning down teenagers now too... nice work
acab
I'm going to defend the cops actions just a little.
Likely he saw the gun in his hand as the kid was throwing it, but didn't see him toss it.
Still a bad decision.
What the cop saw with his real eyes and what we see in a video are somewhat different. Kind of like having sex in real life vs watching the porn video you made- different angle. knowledge and feel for the event.
Random note- The officer was using his flashlight or weapon light in "strobe mode". Strobe mode is used to blind the suspect, did it work, I dont know. Was it a handheld light or weapon mounted light, I dont know. I personally do not like the strobe feature on any light, just doesnt work for me.

We really are in strange times when an armed gangbanger who was involved in a some sort of shooting at 2:30 am (which was why the police were there in the first place) running from police is propped up as some sort of martyr for the people on the technicality he dropped his gun 1 second before he was shot. Of course all the media gaslighting going on right now isn't helping much either.\
In saner times the narrative would be focused on what is going on that 13 year olds are gang banging, walking the streets armed, and being involved in gang shootings at 2:30 am on a weekday. Where the hell are his family? His community? But these dont appear to be particularly sane times.

Yup, calling BS on this one. I rarely side with the police, but this kid had it coming.
A gun changes everything. The police were responding to a shooting, a fucking shooting!
I'm sorry, you want to start carrying a gun and shooting in my neighborhood? I hope you fucking get shot by the police. I don't care if you're 2-100, black or white.
Should be gathering outside the parents house, asking, how or why was your 13 year old son out at 2:30 am endangering the community and law enforcement?

Someone speculated that his arm was up because he was throwing the pistol over the fence prior to jumping over it and that’s when the officer was the pistol in hand up in the air.
Me- Kinda watching this case, but not so much. Still a Tier 2 story unless they riot, then goes to Tier 1.
He should not have shot the kid, it was unlawful without doubt.
I reckon the cop saw the gun just before he threw it and made a genuine mistake. I don't believe he was acting maliciously.
Kid shouldn't been out in the early morning shooting a gun and running from the police. Doesnt quite justify being shot dead while unarmed.... but nobody should lose any sleep over this punk.
Big settlement coming. They should shoot the parents instead. 🙂🙃🙂
Your past posts show that you have no knowledge of policing in the USA. The kid turned and faced the officer with a pistol in hand and raised his arm, that was what prompted the officer to fire his service weapon. This was after a 911 call to shot being fired in the neighborhood.
I can’t blame the officer for defending himself and glad he had a body camera on.
I try to take common sense into all these spots. The city, the crime being responded to. A shooting in Chicago might be the most dangerous spot for a cop in the US. That all makes me feel very differently about this cop as opposed to like the cop who shot the guy who grabbed his taser last year. It’s a lot like the car chases. Not enough we’ll get them tomorrow. With a shooting and a gun in hand, no to we will get him tomorrow and cops have kids they want to return to also.
Parents should catch a case for his delinquency.

Yes, don't care as much about this one. A murder/manslaughter charge would be absurd.
Not a great idea to run from police with a fucking gun in your hand.
The cop likely fucked up by department standards and might not be great at his/her job but I do not fault them for lighting up some gangbanger who spun around really quickly and forced them to make a call.
Play in mud, you're gonna get dirty.
