Brett Favre compares Colin Kaepernick to Pat Tillman: 'That hero status will be stamped'

    lmao..how awful is this.

now every sports writer or writer in general gets great brownie points from the mob pushing the narrative he should be signed, he is owed something, or he should be immortalized..brett favre almost went as far saying he belongs in the HOF.

can't really blame him. how much would he get punished if he said otherwise...he laid that shit on thick though...

really big insult to pat tillman who died in combat

lets go to yahoo comments for the real story of the american people. 3000 comments. how many do you think defends favre here and and react favorably to kap

my fav comment in the first 100-200

"Brett must be looking for a Nike endorsement"

"Favre must have made his moonshine till with iron instead of copper"

isn't in awful you have to be told and preached this in the news.

being black, supporting blm and antifa are untouchable groups right now, they can say or do anything racist and be violent and face little repercussions.

Unless you have served in the military, have a close family member, or close friend serving, you have no idea the sacrifices and hard work our serviceman have committed so we all can be free. For very little pay I might add. No comparison between Kapernick and Corporal Pat Tillman, who's Unit was 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

I don't recall Pat Tillman getting benched, opting out of his contract, then refusing to accept multiple offers as a backup QB with other teams.

Krapernick had 2 great seasons in his entire career. He then ended those 2 seasons by being the only player in football history to single handily lose the Super Bowl and NFC title game in back to back seasons. That's Hall of Fame worthy?

What exactly does Kaepernick stand for? With Tillman it was clear, he was willing to risk his life to protect America. Also Kaepernick chose to be out of the league when he did not accept offers given, then turned around criticizing the league - Tillman never criticized those who did not choose to follow in his path.

If he gets into the HOF, he's be the only QB with the dubious record in there who has thrown more interceptions than completions in a game. @ Bears in 2016.

What Pat Tillman did and what Colin Kaepernick did are two different things. Pat Tillman turned down an NFL contract to serve his country and fight in Afghanistan and that is a heroic deed. Kaepernick opted out of his contract, refused to take a pay-cut of what was offered to him and left the NFL on his own accord. Colin Kaepernick was a bit of a one-trick pony, once the NFL figured out what he could do and what he was, he could never adjust. Colin got the Niners to a Super Bowl once, people are making him way bigger than what he is and his coach got fired so there went his ticket. I appreciate Kaepernick for standing up for what he believes in, he's a great and admirable person for doing so. But I don't look at him at the same vein of Pat Tillman, Pat had to face crazy extremists, vigilantes, and terrorists who all wanted him dead. Ask Colin to endure that every day and see how he likes it. Colin Kaepernick saw injustice in this country and chose to protest police brutality, he never physically fought in a war. I do believe that he will play again in the NFL, but again he'll have to take what's offered. Colin made his own bed and has to sleep in it. That's what my elders say, and that's what I stick to.

comparing a veteran that died in combat to a player who thought he was better than everyone, walks away from a multi million dollar salary, then turns done offers and says he is being picked on and blacklisted. colin go tell Mr. Tillman`s family that you are his equal.

So True. Kneeling during the national anthem and refusing NFL job offers because you are not being offered starting roles, and becoming a martyr for a misguided racist movement, directly correlates with a man who willingly left his job as a multi-millionaire NFL player to fight for his country during 9/11 and tragically lost his life... I never knew Brett Favre was so "liberal" in his logic. Certainly glad I'm not a packer's fan because I have lost pretty much every ounce of respect I had for this guy's abilities. Stay out the spotlight Favre, all those concussions are finally starting to add up it seems.

I find it pretty disgusting that anyone would compare the 2 men
It’s easy to make a scene and then run with it when you’ve never left the USA and put your life on the line
Don’t get me wrong he Made a stand but it didn’t go the way he thought and now that all this wind storm is behind him he’s all smiles
      Pat Tillman is dead
So you answer who sacrificed more
And gave it all for what they believed
If it wasn’t for the flag and what it has taken to keep other flags from being hung over our country
No one would have the privilege to play football
So treat the 2 situations for what they are
      1! The ultimate sacrifice
The other is a stand against injustice and hopefully those things in time will come to pass
      Signed a Navy veteran
And proud of my country and flag for which it stands

Kaeperturd will NEVER be a hero to the majority of Americans. Only those without spines who cannot stand to be in line with the latest trend will consider this troublemaker a hero. A hero doesn't have to stand and thump his chest to tell the world how great he is. Kaeperturd and Favre are legends only in their own minds.

Don't even go there. Tillman voluntarily gave up his high paying pro-football career and served his country with honor. He would not have disrespected the country's flag. How much service in the armed forces did Farve or Kaepernick have --ZERO! Both are over the hill overpaid athletes. I served 23 years, multiple tours in Vietnam and don't think either of these individuals deserve any further discussion.

No, there is no comparison. Tillman honored the flag and fought and died against terrorism. He knew the risks he was taking at the height of his career. Kap pushed a false narrative.while on the downside of his career. He had much less to lose; it has been evident with support from Nike, etc.who like many know are pressured by the false narrative.

Pat Tillman? You mean the guy that left professional football to fight for his country on the battlefield? Kaepernick doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Tillman, personally or professionally. Favre must have taken one to many blows to the head.

How easily they forget that Kaepernick wore a permanent grin when he was the starter. It wasn't until he was benched behind a white QB by a white HC did the protest act begin.

Now correct me if I am wrong, but aren't men inducted into the hall of fame for what they do ON the football field, not off the football field? Sorry, kneeling at the anthem isn't considered on field performance. Why would the liberal media even entertain this idea?

Are you EFFing kidding? Seriously, you are going to compare American hero Pat Tillman to Kaepernick? What's going on Brett, are there some pictures of you in Black face out there some where? Are you trying to get in front of a scandal you got coming your way?
Seriously, Tillman walked away from a pretty good career to serve his country. The other guy was at the end of a very mediocre career and kneeled to serve himself. Tillman was killed in combat. The other guy has made more money not playing football then he did playing.
Enough. Everyone is entitled to his opinion, mine in this case, has the added benefit of being correct.

the only hero and the status that goes with it is tillman, he gaveup more than kap ever could. tillman vollentarely gave up football, the immense pay and the potental of many more winning seasons and joined the military to make the world a better place, he gave his life to make the world a better place, what did kap do , a 3rd rate player wanting top pay for what to lose every chance he could, in no way does kap deserve the honor of hall of fame, that is reserved for those that earned that place.

Favre has dementia already? Excuse me what they’ve done is not at all similar. Tillman left the NFL to serve his country, risking and ultimately giving his own life to do so. Kaepernick walked away after earning tens of millions and realizing he is not starting material and then signing large endorsements to further his own agenda, not sacrificing. What has he sacrificed?

oh Hell No. How can you even compare someone that literally left everything behind, his wife his family his football career to go fight and defend the honor of his country to a dude that saw his career going down slowly but surely so he figured to try to put some headlines out there that would keep him relevant. How come Kap did not kneel during the surper Bowl run when his team was getting all the media attention, and for a dude like number 4 to even think of comparing the 2 players is an absolute insult.

It's a perfect comparison. Neither would be remembered all that well were it not for the things they did off the field. Kaepernick would be a one trick pony that had a good year or two. Kind of like Ronnie Brown and the Dolphins "wildcat" offense. Effective until it was figured out, then useless. Tillman was a decent, not great, safety for Arizona. Who remembers safeties at all, let alone from one of the least marketable franchises in the NFL? He would be completely forgotten except for some people still opening trading cards from the early 2000s looking for Tom Bradys.

He could have signed with Denver, turned it down, Miami, wore a Castro shirt, Baltimore, had girlfriend call owner a slave master and ray Lewis a slave, and then he skipped a workout scheduled by the league! Kap is a fraud who never cared about anything but himself. Pat Tillman was the opposite.

Till risked and ultimately, sacrificed his LIFE. Kaepernick got benched, opted out of a contract, refused to sign with other teams as a backup, then kept popping off at the mouth because he didn't get signed to a record-breaking contract. What has Kaepernick sacrificed? NOTHING. Kaepernick is a pissant nuisance, like something stuck to the bottom of my shoe.

How could Favre get it so wrong? Kaepernick chose to change teams. He's got a new career. It's time to quit playing with this idea of him on the field. He'll only play on his terms and even Favre knows that's not how the game's played. Not to mention he's not that good of a quarterback and every day he's getting older.. Time to move on.

Pat Tillman turned down more money to stay with the team that gave him a shot. He also got in trouble for his buddies when the problems weren’t his. I do believe he would have encouraged people to listen to the message the right way. He was a players, player and a scholar...but make no mistake, he is the one who truly gave up everything even if it means sacrificing everything, not Colon.

What has Kaepernick "actually" fought for in comparison to Pat Tillman? Tillman died in the Middle East fighting in a war our country had no business being in (when you read the fine details). Kaep has done nothing but be a gigantic annoyance using a corrupt Mainstream Media to his advantage. Big difference there.

Ummm...Pat Tillman stopped an NFL career to serve his country and turned down millions....Kap couldn't get another contract in the NFL for various reasons after mediocre play and proving he is an activist first, QB second. I do get tired of people on here saying he turned down a contract...that isn't really true. But he for sure is no pat tillman. That is ridiculous. He did risk his career by becoming an activist...but that was after he started looking more like a backup and less like a starter....let's look at this thing with a dose of reality on both sides.

There have been many sports greats like Brett Favre or Tom Brady. There has been only one Kaepernick whether you like it or not. After 20 years from now, history will remember Kaepernick over many other sports greats. Whether Kaepernick can play again or not in NFL is really a trivial issue, so please don't make a big deal out of it.

Lots of difference between the 2. 1st Pat Tillman was far from rich. He played 4 years in the NFL as a 7th round pick. Prior to enlisting, he turned down a 3 year contract for around 3.6 million. Football salaries have increased since then and Kaepernick made far more. He is financially set for life whereas Tillman wasn't. If you assume both situations knowingly resulted in the end of NFL careers to do what is right, the long term financial stability of Tillman was a significantly greater sacrifice. Tillman made very little money in the Army, whereas Kaepernick continued to receive endorsement money from Nike.

One died in service of our country and exhibited true selflessness and courage.
The other a self-centered, whining self-anointed martyr, who felt justified imposing his individual priorities on his teammates and team owners, all the while being a passive-aggressive *-hole.
Sorry Brett, don't see the comparison in the least.

Pat Tillman is a true hero who gave up millions in the NFL only to be killed in action. Kaepernick chose to walk away from his last year of his San Francisco 49er's contract thinking he would be getting a better deal elsewhere at the same time of kneeling his personal grievences against police brutality. There is a reason why he remains unsigned by 26 NFL owners!

Pat did not give up a contract because of money nor was he a subpar player when he was playing where as Kip on the other hand quick because he was a sub par QB and the Forty Niners were going to put him in the 2nd string so Brett go back into your shell you do not have to degrade yourself to BLM.

Tillman walked away from a fortune to serve his country. Kapernick decides that the time to "protest" is the few moments when one is asked to stand for their country. I support protest when one feels aggrieved, that is part of the core values of this great nation. But instead of kneeling at half-time, at post-game, when taking the field, when scoring a Touch Down, he chooses to kneel at the few moments that are dedicated to the country that made it possible for him to earn his fortune. Forgive me, but shunning your own country doesn't fit my definition of hero

So surprised Football Legend Brett Favre comparing Colin Krapernick to Pat Tillman. I realize everyone has a opinion, and so do I. To me there is no comparison, Pat Tillman left a career playing in the NFL to join the military serving his county. Where as Krapernick was removed from the starting QB position the very game he dropped to the knee during the National Athem.
To me I\he is gutless just using this to promote his own agenda. I came back watching the NFL last season after refusing to watch the disgrace of the the grown men that protest. As far as Roger bow to the pressure Goodell it is my hope that many will not tune into these millionaires that play the game of football. Being a Vietnam Veteran making I think around 250.00 a month coparied to the salaries these guys make and the attitude they have is very displeasing to me. I grew up watching one of the greatest running back Jim Brown would have no part in taking a knee. I realize some will disagree with my statement and that okay. God Bless the USA it braved men and women that serve our country. And to the ones that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country giving these that believe they can disrespect our Law Enforcement, our military and the families who have lost love ones.
