HILLARY WON
It is worthwhile to know that ex employees collecting UI increases your experience rating as an employer and your unemployment insurance tax goes up
Looking at it another way, collecting is one last way to tuck it to your old employer.
Yup.
That's why some employers will fight it. However, the employers who care most (small companies) will often be most willing to negotiate with you when you leave, so as to avoid any potential wrongful termination suit.
So if you're having problems there and you think the ax might be falling, approaching them and offering the mutual resignation (you can collect UI and they don't try to contest it, and you also can't sue them anymore) will sometimes make sense to them, just for the security that they're totally done with you.
Larger companies have deeper pockets and set procedures, so they'll usually tell you to eat shit if you come to them with such a proposal, but some will accept it, so it doesn't hurt to try if you think your time there is about up anyway.
Ive never had unemployment if ur out of a job get another, at least in my profession is easy peasy. Cus i do some seriously nasty shit at times.
I don't listen this advice, but I guess for some it makes sense.
