Just like in the beginning of the show the guy says the bronx was a working class and had many middle class areas..
It was President kennedy and all those urban progressive renewel plans that decimated the bronx and many areas of the country..

As im binge watching this show. I do remember that every time we had to run from the cops when we were kids, there was no fear of getting shot.. Just a severe ass kicking if you were cought and a ride home to our parents wich was just as bad..
I guess when all the niggars moved in the cops had no choice but to start shooting those mother fuckers on sight..

Yeah, we’d get into some petty mischief as kids all the while kinda hoping we’d get chased.
Used to pick oranges off trees and throw them at cars in Phoenix. Stupid but the thrill was getting chased by a driver or cop. We’d high tail it down neighborhood allys and hop fences etc etc.
Obviously no one ever caught us cause I remember those nights fondly.
I’d be dead if we were kids today.
